    think he only ever scored half a dozen or so goals for gremio although he only played for them 50 odd times!!

    i seem to recall he has a great scoring record for brazil though!

              Gerrard 20-25, I think Alonso, Mascherano and Lucas together should be able to score 10-15 goals/season, maybe not this season but the following ones.

              Just believe and you never know what will happen.

              According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                Alonso, one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.
                Mascherano, the best holding midfielder in the world.

                I would say that the future looks very promising.

                    Gerrard might get close to 20 - if we keep winning pens
                    Mascherano has never scored for us, Lucas has never scored for us, and Alonso isn't prolific but it due another 50 yarder I suppose.

                    But you needn't rely on your central midfield to supply a huge amount of goals; if you have a good strike rate from your strikers and wingers.

                    Torres - 25
                    Gerrard - 20
                    Kuyt - 10
                    Crouch - 10
                    Voronin - 8
                    Babel - 8
                    Benny - 8

                    There's 89 goals just there! Plus the other usual suspects we're looking at 100+ goals, which when you look at our mean defence should be enough for us to push on all fronts.

                              May even be an even better midfield than the 70' and 80' ones in a year or two.
                              Only Gerrard would get in the late 70's & 80's midfield

                              As much as I like Alonso, Mascherano & Lucas we had better players than them in the 70's & 80's
