The earliest recording of YNWA being sang at a football ground is at a Liverpool match.
To be honest, let them think what they like. We are famous for it, everyone in world football knows that, the man most famous for singing it was from the area. IT is our anthem, when people try and say it is another teams song, they are showing how jealous they are.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Don't they also sing Pro-IRA songs and Rangers fans sign Pro-Orange songs?

It was first sung at Liverpool. Probably after 1963 when Gerry and the Pacemakers released it.

Do I sound like I know what I'm talking about?

That's just like saying all we sing about is the Munich air disaster, and all ManU fans sing about is Hillsborough and Heysel. Although, in the latter case that might actually be true

Undoubtedly an element of sectarianism exists amongst some supporters of the Glasgow clubs, but it is massively unfair to tar all fans of either club with the same brush, and it is certainly something that has been gradually diminishing in any case.

They are also not allowed to sing sectarian songs anymore, and anyone caught doing so will be banned from whichever stadium they're in.

I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

A lot of people that aren't from Glasgow or Dublin don't understand why people hate the old firm.

When was the last time you were at an old firm game mate? Were there thousands of people singing sectarian songs? I didn't realise - my apologies.
