This is a must win game. We're not playing a European giant, we need creativity throughout the entire midfield, a purely defensive midfielder isn't needed. If Alonso was fit I'd put him in without hesitation, but Lucas is the best alternative and would suit this game more than Mascher.

I really can't see Crouch and Torres starting. Personally I would like to see Crouch play but having done 90 minutes today I think Kuyt is a cert to come in for a team something like:

Yossi-Mascher-Gerrard-Kewell
Torres-Kuyt

Front 6 is obvious, you can tell that from todays line up. Pepe, Carra and Sami will all play so just full back positions to sort.
