Players you can count on week in week out

The players who i would say are safe, reliable and are the backbone of the team every week, the rest are well, not good enough to command a starting place week in week out or, need more time to settle in. The safe players in my opinion are:
    Reina
    Carra
    Agger
    Stevie G
    Masher
    Torres
    Babel
    Alonso
    Benayoun

If i've left anyone out who you think should be in there then, please add to the list.

    I thankyou

I wouldn't include Yossa or Babel in that list. Babel certainly has the potential to be though

        Arbeloa is reliable also.

          Honestly?

Reina, Carragher, Agger, Gerrard, Mascherano, Alonso and Torres.

To be fair Finnan and Arbeloa are both steady consistent performers. And I like Benayoun.

Hopefully in time Babel and Lucas will join the top bunch.

Those who I haven't mentioned are very much replaceable as we know.

Well, it looks like he is backup to Arbeloa now but he will do a good solid job when we need him.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

It's highly conjectural what you're saying.

                          Let us example the facts:

Finnan has been rested for 4 games this season and been injured for 6 games
Arbeloa has been rested for 4 games this season and been sick for 1

Of the 4 games both were rested for 2 were PL games and 2 were Cup games.

When Finnan and Arbeloa have both played Finnan has always played RB.

                          I rest my case.

I think that has more to do with the level Riise has been playing at than Steve Finnan.

Rafa clearly sees Arbeloa as a better long term option, I still rate Finnan, but he is getting on a bit now and I've been really impressed with Arbeloa this season. Think he has been better than Finnan TBH.

Well seeing as Finnan isn't exactly young I'd have to agree with you but AF's point was that Finnan is backup to Arbeloa. The facts do not bear him out.
