Loving the lad. Really hasn't put a foot wrong when he's had the chance. Hopefully he can stay injury free.

Totally agree on this one.Technically he is brilliant and is very intelligent with the ball.
Needs to stay injury free right until the end of year and he will cement his place at left back.Really shows JAR up.Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
everyone wants to know

The lad is quality. Worthy of a place in any team, its just the injuries.Originally posted by MARTINOZ View PostLoving the lad. Really hasn't put a foot wrong when he's had the chance. Hopefully he can stay injury free.
I think I remember reading that in his entire career he has never played 20 games in a season through injury.
If this lad could go 2 seasons with hardly any injuries I genuinely believe he could go on to become one of the best left backs in the world.
In reality though, hes about due another long term injury.

I don't think he's quick enough. His ability with the ball (both from dead balls and in play) might balance that out but lack of pace is a problem throughout the team (with some obvious exceptions) and in that respect Aurelio is part of the problem not part of the solution.
He's a good player - I'm just in a mood today for making (what I would call) balanced assessments (re. my comments on Mascherano and Gerrard)..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I agree Neil. I'm a Aurelio fan but he seems to be lacking pace, which is not a weakness in the fullback areas for Chelski, SCUM and ARSEnal.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostI don't think he's quick enough. I know you won't like this (the ARSEnal worshipping thing) but I think there may be a cheap option at ARSEnal that we may be able to snap up for a cheapish fee and that's that kid Armand Traore.
I think he's only 18, but the times I've seen him play against Blackburn for example he looks like a quality player.

I believe they paid £3.5m for him. I'm thinking he won't come cheap, especially to us.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostI agree Neil. I'm a Aurelio fan but he seems to be lacking pace, which is not a weakness in the fullback areas for Chelski, SCUM and ARSEnal.

I'm a sucker for classy ball players, hence I'm a fan of Aurelio, but I have worries about his lack of pace and defensive lapses.
Defensively he was outstanding yesterday but in the past he's been erratic to say the least.
If he can remain injury-free then he'll be a top asset to the squad. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Tbh, there are loads of Arsenal players I'd be happy to have in our squad. Please don't tell Dhavlos.

Really? I didn't knwo that I assumed he was one of Wenger's £500k signings or something of the sort.Originally posted by dww View PostI believe they paid £3.5m for him. I'm thinking he won't come cheap, especially to us.
Anyway, I would also assume he wouldn't want to sit ont he bench for years behind Cliche and be the ARSEnal version of Wayne Bridge. Also, what do you think of him as a player?

Not sure I'd be comfortable having another French left-back called Traore.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostReally? I didn't knwo that I assumed he was one of Wenger's £500k signings or something of the sort.

Seen him twice and he looked exceptionally good for a young player but a bit weak both times.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostReally? I didn't knwo that I assumed he was one of Wenger's £500k signings or something of the sort.

For the record Harry Redknapp said last year that he had never seen a better defender than Traore at his age, which is obviously very high praise indeed.
In terms of his long term future Cliche had to wait a long time behind Cole for his chance. I guess it depends on the players mentality but Wenger is an expert in managing this situations. From what I hear from Arsenal fans they seem to assume in a couple of year Traore will be their first choice, so maybe he has nothing to worry about. As a young player I think I would stick at Arsenal in that sort of situation (obviously I would be off to LFC like a shot but, you get what I mean)."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

OK, I see your point. Cheers
