Apparantly he backed out from Bolton cos he went into a McDonalds there and couldn't understand a word anyone said. He got on the blower to Fowler to find out more about the town of Bolton and quickly made his mind up! I was in Bolton a couple of weeks ago and don't blame him. They are barely capable of speech or thought.

A little off topic maybe and perhaps I'm going over old ground, but I can't help feeling that Rafa's going to regret this decision.
I know Didi is no longer in the peak of his career and was probably on a massive weekly wage, but even so, surely it couldn't have hurt to keep him on another year or two, even if just for his massively positive impact to the younger players in training, league cup games and around the club etc
Momo must have learnt a hell of a lot from Didi last season.
Sad to see Hamann leave.
Ah well, onwards and upwards....

Time will tell, I suppose.
We will only know in that crunch situation when, in the past we have had the opportunity to throw him on and watch him soak up the situation.
I don't think we have a player capable of doing that at the moment. Maybe we need a free transfer older head, on cheap wages, that could do a job when the chips are down.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

newy
hi guys, new to the site. Im liking it, good stuff and better than koppy that is was booted off today (bullied off)
Anyway, im just glad that momo had the chance to play along side someone like hamann who he has ovisouly learnt so much off. I would maybe have liked to see him stay another year, as he is so important to us in the bigger games (champs league).
YNWA hamann all the best.
