By your logic, no winning manager og La Liga would win the league here as they are used to winning the title with lless points than is usually possible here. So bang goes Capello and Riykaard and anyone else who has won La Liga as well.

Also Serie A is a similar story. apart from last year when Inter scooted in with 90 odd points, its regularly own with 78 to 82 points which would be useless in England as far as title wins goes. So any Serie A title winner is out as well for LFC. That means bye bye to Capello again, Lippi, Mancini etc.
Of course it's relevant bob. As i said, my logic ISNT saying no La Liga winner can win the PL.

But it IS pointing out how different the requirements are. In La Liga, you CAN afford to chop and change all the time, rest players and inevitably drop points...and still win the title.

So if a La Liga winning manager does use Rafa's approach to win La Liga, he definitely can still win the PL - but not with the same approach. Unfortunately, Rafa insists on using the same methods to tackle a more different and much more difficult task.

But if he continues to use the same methods that plainly arent going to work over here, without hint of making any kind of adjustments, what's more time going to achieve?

DJS's original post is very interesting but i think you can win with less points in Italy & Spain as the overall standard is better and the better teams drop more points there than the best teams do here. i don't think the managers mindset on attacking/defensive play comes into it.

mourinho was basically a defensive manager but won the title in England with 90 odd points. Thats becuase the overall standard in England is relatively low.

Kinell, you're an embarrassment sometimes with your pathetic vendetta. And you're not alone in that. How about post about the topic or dont post?

Or are you only capable of posting digs?

Emabarrassment? Agenda? I have no agenda, mate I just think you have such a high opinion of yourself that someone has to try and offer up the other side of the argument.

You think, that after posting it to be read once, that the post was sooooo good it required its own thread? Now that's embarrassing. We've read it once and we get the message. YOU WANT RAFA OUT AND MOURINHO IN!!! You've made that point abundantly clear.

              Get a grip, mate.

I do find it funny how you think that your opinion is so much more valid than anyone else' though that you have to repeat posts in threads of their own.

Why post it in the Mourinho / Rafa thread if it was out of place in there?

how many teams normally compete for the title in Spain?

Is there a big four or more?

I've not even mentioned mourinho in this thread ffs.

                  Forget him, forget anyone else.

The quite obvious point is that the things that Rafa used to win La Liga are highly unlikely to win the PL.

It seems obvious to me what point i'm making. Unsurprisingly, the usual suspects who cant actually argue against me with valid points, simply have their little sly digs.

                    DJS.
In fairness mate, it looks like you posted this thread looking for an arguement.
You do have a point, but there is nothing really ground braking in your post.

Big 2 sometimes a big 0 like last season. Real stuttered their way to the title.

Why cant you dispute the points i've made dhavlos?

I didnt mention JM, i just pointed out how few points it takes to win La Liga, compared to the PL and how it's clear that you can afford to drop silly points in the Spanish league and still win it, far more so than you can in the PL, which suggests that Rafa needs to adapt his thinking or he wont win the title.

What's incorrect in what i've said?

                            Normally?

2 or 3 isn't it? Barca, Madrid plus 1 of Valencia, Sevilla, Atletico.

I got the impression that La Liga was more open and that maybe could account for the lower points tally?

Because i was replying to one particular post that was arguing the Valencia point.

I'm genuinely stunned at how you are on here tbh scott, digs and pot shots all the way, very different to how you are in person. I wont post a description but needless to say, it's highly disappointing.
