It seems obvious to me what point i'm making. Unsurprisingly, the usual suspects who cant actually argue against me with valid points, simply have their little sly digs.
I wouldn't say "highly unlikely", it's just that you can't take for granted that because he knows how to win La Liga, he knows how to win the premiership.
The same methods may or may not be succesful but I think the fundamental point here is that there is no one universal winning football strategy and anyone who is too stuborn to adapt to their environment will ultimately fail.

In fairness mate, it looks like you posted this thread looking for an arguement.
You do have a point, but there is nothing really ground braking in your post.
      Unbelievable.

Feck it, i cant be arsed anymore.

          ****, boring and repetitive thread.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Please dont say Martin HOOF O'Neill !!! He is a limited manager with one good tactic..HOOF and if it was not for Young & Agbonlahor he would have got the sack by now.
Any manager coming from Scotland will have to be extra special to win the Prem. At that rate we might as well go for McLeish, Strachan or Smith. Shankly & KING KENNY dont come along that often.

It seems that it's against the law to think Rafa's methods arent going to work though.

To be fair to Sir Bob, I think he only used Scotland as an example due to their higher points tally playing less games

Seems like the sensible answer to me.

Haven't read the whole thread but I did read DJS's post.

I wasn't aware of the stats, they make interesting reading if nothing else.

If Rafa is using a La Liga mentality towards the EPL then you can see why he has fallen short.

However I think Rafa would've learned quite quickly that the same mentality wouldn't work in the EPL,very very quickly,so I put the difference down to him not being able to buy the players he wants to compete.

In the last few seasons Rafa wanted to sign Alves,Heinze and keep Owen as well as several other quality players we were unable to get.

I think that is the difference between where we are and where Rafa wants us to be.

Top being the most recent winners to bottom:
                          Real
                          Barca
                          Barca
                          Valencia
                          Real
                          Valencia
                          Real
                          Depor
                          Barca
                          Barca

Real and Barca are the big two. All the others take turns in challenging. It seems to me the pressure is not enough in La Liga, and the top teams get complaicent at times. It is a luxury you can not afford in the Premiership. Which is physically and mentally more demanding.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

That doesn't explain 1 up front at home to Wigan though KK

Author of the post is adding 2+2 and getting 5, either that or he's a mindreader..

just because spanish champions win la liga with less points than premiership champions, Rafa must think he can afford to drop points? lol.
