Not being able to go to Anfield is the worst thing about not living back in England.

Sky sports are reporting that Anfield is at number 16 in the noisiest grounds in the premiership, behind the Mancs, Arsenal and Everton who were 5th. Sunderland are the loudest.

In fairness portsmouth are way down on this list as well and their ground is rocking for every match so you'd have to wonder about this list

Anfield's atmosphere has been very very poor this season, it's really frustrating. My opinion is though that the the performances on the pitch haven't helped at all. I know and agree we should go the match and create the atmosphere no matter what, be the 12th man and spur the team on..........in reality it doesn't happen anymore.

Over the past few weeks.............Wigan (Deathly Quiet) City away (Quiet) Mancs (very poor for a game against that shower) Portsmouth (we won 4-1 and they still taunted us for being quiet!)

I'm hoping the new Kop in the new ground (if it ever gets built) will be the catalyst to change for the better!

In the GH days it was common but that was more to do with the frustration at the utter sh!te dished out by the sides in the last 12 - 18 months of his reign. It was the only time in my life where going to Anfield week in and wek out was an utterly painful experience.

As for the attack attack chants...they're not jibes. It's the fans willing the team to attack rather than sitting back and offering nothing going forward when we're in need of a goal.

The "attack, attack" chants are not jibes, as you say. Nor are they a modern phenomenon. They were a feature of every single game I went to at Anfield in the 60s - fully 4 decades ago

The crowd this year has been very quiet sure European nights when we get to the last 16 the crowd can be amazing but i think this year the fans at the away games have been brilliant you can always hear them singing their hearts out

I actually think the away support is rapidly getting quieter.

Dunno whether it’s a lack of enthusiasm due to poor performance, or more day tripper types getting hold of tickets, but the last few aways I’ve been to have been **** atmosphere-wise, and we sounded very quiet on the telly at Luton.
