the press are people in jobs, people who have told their bosses that their sources know Rafa is going...... so they have to keep plugging the story until he goes, otherwise they are in hot water with their boss...

Where's the money the americans promised ? I think Rafa has challenged them on that front and they didn't like it one bit.

I just dont get it with some people, take out the negative press and we seem to be going in the right direction, ok the yanks arent roman.....but then i didnt think anyone wanted to buy the title anyway? yours confused
Yep, agree that when you include fees on youngsters the spending mounts up. But at the mo promises of "Snoogy Doogy" and "player-specific budgets" and waving dollars in front of tv cameras seems a bit hollow. We will see when the MAscher thing comes to a head I guess.

Agree cant do nothing about the press, but I think the club could have done more to kill the speculation from the very beginning before it intesified to current levels. They didn't - was that deliberate or just a misjudgment? Criminal if it was the first, naive if it's the second.

I didn't want another Roman, just people who would bring stability to the club, back the manager, enable us to compete, give us a great stadium. It's early days so we'll have to wait and see what they deliver, but given what we've seen so far, I'm sceptical if they can deliver any of this, or any of the prmoises they've made.

There's perfectly good reasons why clubs are financed in such a way, it's a more efficient way of finance.
Fair play re Torres and Babel, although I dont think our net spend this summer was much more than what it has been in previous yrs, and certainly not in line with the yanks, Chelsea, or even the likes of Sunderland.

Will wait and see about the stadium when the new plans are unveiled, but I certainly hope you're right. Of all the promises they made this one was the one that got me most excited, is what got me most hopeful aout their ownership. I'm a bit sceptical after the fiasco with the HKS design, but am happy to wait and see what happens with the latest designs.

I accept that debt is an efficient form of finance, but they did promise the club wouldn't be burdened with their personal debt in buying the club, a promise they look like breaking.

I guess we've no choice but to wait and see what happens with all these things and whether Rafa stays and is backed sufficiently to enable him to compete for the title.

to be honest, I think it is all bull**** anyway.
I am sure there are better alternatives than this Miskelly chap, unless they are only looking to sell a stake.
Surely he wouldn't be considered for a takeover. Both Miskelly and G & H would know that we would be no better off if it was a full takeover, it sounds like a non runner to me. Thought this as soon as I seen his name.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

wasn't there also a report a few weeks ago that G&H were looking to discuss with DIC about selling a 10-15% stake in the club, but DIC were only interested in a full takeover? Speculative no doubt, but if there's any integrity in those and these reports may be they are looking to dump a minority of their shares to boost the clubs coffers?

All is not horse **** and I think there's a large portion of truth in all that. I mean, it seems fairly likely they're looking for investment ... a paradox when you consider what went on a year ago.

It's really something which is stalling and preventing the club move forward as we would have wished.

It is the only plausible link I think they could have with the article and Miskelly.

Actually, thinking further into it. They could also have someone that would have alot to loose financially very close to the club geographically. unlike themselves.

Yes thats right but Hicks wanted $150 million for 15% which means he values the club at $10 million for each 1 per cent The articles arent quite suggesting a full takeover by Miskelly rather an injection of funds. Be interesting to see what sort of stake and how much if its true. This all stems from those yanks not wanting to put any of their own money up. Banks are not lending to each other but are still loaning for investments purposes but these pricks dont want to put in any of their own equity and that stinks. They are obviously spread to thin and they dont have any emotional attachments to LFC so quite frankly they couldnt give a flying **** at the end of the day I wonder if it isnt time for some sort of protest at the matches to flush these jokers out?
"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.

i wonder how close they are to that paul allen fella? i have an 'insider' at southampton and know he was very close to buying them last year.....so he is obviously interested in investing over here.

i would be surprised if they sold up completely, would send out the wrong signals for there 'empires'
