Similar to danny murphy in my book. Big goals in big games but 99% of the time just giving the ball away for no apparant reason
Thats an insult to Luis fella Twice the player Murphy ever was who's goals got us to a European cup final. I only really seem to remember Danny hitting a few versus the scum other than that he was and average squad player IMO.

I think Rafa's most obvious failing in the summer tranfer window was not replacing Luis properly and getting caught out holding on for Henize.

You see your libido can play tricks on you and make you forget all the reasons why you broke up with her in the first place.

Garcia was a hugely frustrating player and never really made an impact in the premiership, nothwithstanding that he was an integral part of our 2005 CL campaign and I'll always have good memories of him for that.
      All of that is spot-on.

With regards to Yossi, I thought at the time that signing his was a bit of a waste. After all, we seem to want to play with wngers, and Yossi is not a winger.

When Pennant returned from injury, Rafa said we had missed him because of his knack of staying out wide. Why sign Yossi and not a wide player then rafa? For me, Yossi is another of those players, just like Garcia, where it is never really known where there best position is.
      Forwards.......

Little Luis teamed up with Torres would have been lovely to watch. I miss him. Especially when that gallumping great pony-tailed loon runs out in his shirt.*

No offence, but there's just no comparison between the two.

FWIW I definitely miss him, he was ace. FAr better than voronin for his ability to win a game.

          Nice sig Zimbo btw.

            KING LUIS I
But having said that Benayoun gives the ball much less than LG used to which is a big factor in keeping possession. Stating the obvious I know.

Agreed. I have never seen anything like that letter before, it was a really thoughtful, appreciative gesture. Very touching indeed and showed he understood what it meant to be a Liverpool player. Seriously it was a special thing for him to do and I will never forget him for that.

As for missing him and wishing him back. I bet if he resigned and had a mare in his first game back you lot would be the first people on here to post how crap he was and how all he did was give the ball away

For me he was too much of a luxury player, he never settled in into the Premiership at all, and as such became somewhat of a luxury player. So far Benny has given us a similar level of flair and crucially was already fully adapted to the Premiership which means we can throw him in for any game and expect him to deliver.

Benny has no way matched LL's flair- or goal output-, altho I will concede to his consistency.

Yes, Luis was very frustrating, but just as you were about to completely give up on him he would produce some magic, invariably match winning magic. So he always remained a special player.

                      Dirk Kuyt take note.

Woah! Deja vu. I thought I was back on koptalk for a second, until I realized that the title didn't say "I miss Jari Litmanen".

In the games we have drawn this season, you just get the feeling the Luis would have scored for us!

Yup. For all his frustrations, he was worth a good 5-10 points per season
