    Sorry that's conspiracy theory nonsense.

    You're hooked on that.

It's not unreasonable to expect the club to issue a refutation of the story given the details and scope of it as it emerged this weekend. They've set a precedent for this with the Capello story which was much smaller. The club are normally consistant with their behaviour in these matters.

The fact that they haven't speaks volumes. If I was Rafa Benitez I would expect a swift denial. Why haven't we got it. Please feel free to speculate.

I agree, horribly subjective. In fact I think it was rubbish. People will still lap it up though, as if it was truth.

The media is obsessed with Liverpool! That's a fact! And they want Liverpool to fail on every step. That's why all these stories come up. Everything is blown out of proportion about Liverpool these days.

This is a quote from "Anfield Banter" blog that completely sums up everything about the media and Liverpool:

Is it just me or is every little nook and cranny involved with LFC blown out of proportion these days? Man U has a Christmas party where a woman is raped, a player is arrested, and that seems to get less coverage than Harry Kewell not worrying over a contract renewal. Analyzing the agenda of the media is easier said than done, but discussing the size of mountains with blind moles is a waste of everyone's time.

        Exactly!

the only people who can be blamed for the recent turmoil at liverpool is those who allowed YANKS to take over the club. Didn't anybody talk to gilette and hicks and wonder why they were not putting any of their own money in to fund the stadium, new players etc.

The club showing plans of the new stadium was totally unprofessional if the money and red tape hadn't been sorted. It makes us look like idiots and let's face it the press feed on things like that because they love nothing better than to see us fail.

Hicks and Gilette need to go and imo can take the useless parry with them.

Common sense tells me that something is not right and the fact that the Klinsmann agents have gone on record saying he was offered Rafas job, plus all the recent goings on at Anfield, tell me that Rafa is on borrowed time with these cowboys.
I`ll make up my mind when I see concrete evidence either way.

Actually that`s not common sense, that`s paranoia.

Although every Club statement since has said it was a misunderstanding and the yanks just gave rafa money for Skertll.

Also it's for the club to issue statements is it not? They did it with the capello story, why the sudden inconsistancy?

Much better to refer (not quote) to the unnamed "high ranking official" at Bayern saying their was an approach. Probably some bitter prick upset that their number one target told them to **** off. If he even exists.

                Well in Rafa.

If you set aside your silly idea that there is a press conspiracy trying to whip up a story out of nowhere to get Rafa sacked, you're position doesn't look very sensible to me. I actually find your comments on this quite perverse considering the gathering weight and number of reports.

Do you really, trully think these stories are fabrications? That there is nothing going on?

Their net spend since taking over is still minimal for a club that harbours ambitions of winning the title and competing with the other big clubs.

Please describe what the nature of this evidence might be? It's something that you bring up often but never define.

As mentioned previously, why no refutation from the club of the Klinsmann story when 2 weeks ago they made a huge fuss about dismissing the Capello story? I would say that the fact that this hasn't happened gives a pretty good indicator (an evidence of sort if you like) that there is a lack of support at the top-level for the manager.

Had Johnny Evans played for us the press would still be talking about it.
Had he been shipped out to Sunderland the press would still be talking about it.
Had 3 of our young players been caught with Hookers the press would still be talking about it.

There is definatly an anti-Liverpool agenda in the press. They smell blood and hope that if they sling enough **** it will stick.

Fans like you buying into it and following their agenda is what saddens me.

Really? Parry's being refuting stories about the yanks and capello all through xmas. Suddenly he's shut up, despite a huge wave of stories saying Rafa is going to be sacked. Under the circumstances you'd expect the club to issue some kind of statement like they managed with the Rafa to Madrid stories last year. The silence is defeaning.

You can choose to dismiss this as some kind of administrative cock-up if you like.
