There is zero chance that Rafa will stay as long as G&H stays. Not even 0.0000001% chance IMO.

This also explains why the players have played as bad as they have in the latest games. Playing for a manager they know will be off IMO.

There was nothing in the Spanish press about Rafa and Madrid, Madird have made statistically the best start ever (or something like that) in La Liga so why would they want him now??
What they're basically saying is because the English gutter press ran a few stories we thought we had better line up a new manager.
Does that mean if the press run story after story about us needing a new goalkeeper they would go and line up Lehman (sp) just in case Reina left.
Also, Rafa is under contract so even if he wanted to leave (and who could blame him) they can just say no, you're under contract so finish the job you started.

just playing devils advocate here and thinking some things out. Rafa has been the subject of approaches for much of the time he's been manager. what if he's instigated them. agent and contacts speaking to contacts etc. he could have used this as leverage to get funds to buy the likes of kuyt etc prior to the texans.

and the yanks have a stance of 'we won't be bullied like that by anyone' - not unreasonable. so rafa after the CL threw had his outburst and again recently. the point is they seem to work with different urgencies and they have pre-empted rafa's previous tactic of saying 'look, i've an offer from Real Madrid and they'll back me...'

besides, who else is available as a manager this jan? perhaps it would be an initial 6 month contract for klinsmann until the summer when, and im convinced they're going to do this, they hire jose.

its interesting that its A) Klinsmann and B) Real Madrid that are mentioned. Why else? I think this is a message to Rafa to shut up and not to try his old tricks of leaking stories of Real being interested. If Rafa does employ these tactics, it could be a reason for a rift with Parry who takes exception to it. It would irritate me I reckon.

Something is clearly still amiss and why oh why is all this in the press? STILL! The leaks to the media are deliberate and they are messages between rafa and the owners. I am very suspicious that the yanks really do have a point that rafa should stop playing a media game.

Disclaimer: For all you sensitive souls out there, as above, im trying to think out scenarios here and discuss them on a forum. I don't want it to be true but its possible. I'm not agitating for mourinho nor supporting 'yanks versus rafa' or other such nonsense. I want Rafa to lead us to no 19 sooner rather than later.

Doesn`t look to bad after reading the whole article.Losing to Besicktas and communication problems put a little doubt in the yanks minds.they are also new to this and learning what owning a "Soccer" team in England entails.

The thing is this is no way to bury the story - which is what we need.

I'm not against G&T and I still want to give them time to settle in and get used to how LFC and the British press work. However they are not helping themselves and if they don't sort the financing of teh stadium soon then it is going to be hard to continue to have any faith in them.

I do think people need to calm down on here though.

Can't believe they admit they held talks with another manager, that is a certain way of ruining every confidence in the current manager within the squad. Hope H+G get whats coming at the next home game, or the next one they are attending.
