It's blatantly clear that Hicks is using the press to undermine the manager even further.
Sure, clubs often have back-up plans in place should a manager leave/be pushed, but when have you ever heard a chairman discuss it IN THE PRESS when the present manager is still in the job? It beggars belief.

This is the kind of car-crash that happens at clubs like Spurs, Villa and Newcastle. It's a hugely embarrassing circus now. No doubt the media find this completely

How long do managers last when it's publicly known that the owners are meeting potential new managers?

      Not long is the answer.

Exactly. And it's nothing new for me. It's all part of a planned agenda, in order to put a yes man in charge, a bit ala Roman.

It may be that this is the way Hicks deals with things...being open.

We all day want to know whats going on at LFC...well Hicks just told us.

Perhaps they did line up Klinsmann
Perhaps Rafa was going to leave as I do remember rumours coming out.

Perhaps things are all ok now and this is just the owners telling us what happened.

Would be suicide now for Hicks and co to part company with Rafa..especially when they know we'll be mightly pissed off.

            Can Hicks have won here?

If he'd lied and denied it all, you wouldn't believe it.
If he'd said nothing, you'd complain that the club hasn't said anything.
Now he's admitted that they had a contingency plan, he's still getting it in the neck.

Can we await the full article before making too many rash comments....

Only thing I will add is that this needed to be sorted one way or the other by the club. The fact Hicks has come out and admitted this means that I should listen to it. However I was going to post this as a hypothetical earlier but decided against it as it would come across as being supportive of 2 useless of the highest order.

                Rafa Keep on keeping on!

Weren't they going to sack him if he didn't qualify for the CL? He was right throwing the Reading game then!
                            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

He must know, that even if the fans are beginning to question/doubt Rafa, that we'd rally round him in these kind of circumstances? Who honestly here would prefer Klinsmann to Rafa, or be happy if we were managed by Klinsmann
                                had Rafa left?

I bet most fans would sooner the yanks left than Rafa. hicks must know that.
