Hicks could have been more tactful. Nobody really knows why he has said it but himself. I'm sure we'll hear more from other parties soon.
Could be more tactful ? He bloody needs to !

The press just blows everything out of proportion yes, but ffs, there needs to be some credibility into it for them to feed on their stories.

either they are sh1t athandling the media - that this was an attempt to counter the bayern statements and dampen the media fires - which they completely screwed up.

or its a conspiracy to oust rafa on the cheap...

either way, they screwed up by letting this offer come out in the open. If they wanted to speak to jurgen, how about an NDA? Are we that amateurish?

bottom line is that this is a massive, massive kick in the teeth / knife in the back to rafa. It now looks like we're watching a game of chicken between the two sides and will rafa leave or will he not is the only question.

Asking Jurgen in November means that they were either gonna have been p1ssed at his summer outburst and decided they couldnt work with him and wanted him gone OR Parry has told them of rafa's tactics of using interest in him by Real madrid to get the funds he wants released. What other reason could they have for that timing? Rafa was golden b@lls otherwise.

Devil's advocate; the only RUMOURED (and some confirmed, as of 10am this morning) problems the owners have had with Rafa (and likewise him with them) were prior to this meeting after the United match, no?

Have there been reported or confirmed problems at either end SINCE that meeting?

All the crap that has come out has been prior to this, and all the "current" problems at the club, could just be rehashed from before December.

Taking the positive angle here, as I flat out refuse to believe things are as bad as the press is making it out to be (both denial, and also, when are the press actually spot on? Is there job to exaggerate, not be accurate).

So, technically, everything could be sorted; you look at actions and statements from the owners since the meeting; all positive comments and have just spent £6m.

Obviously, a lot of this now depends on how Benitez responds, as I'm sure he'll get asked at the pre-Luton game.

Not saying I'm not believing a word, but just trying to look at it from a different angle. I completely understand it's all ifs and buts, but we don't actually KNOW anything, it's all interpretation.

“George and I have no interest in meeting with DIC or selling our shares to them.
          Another blatant lie.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I have to say that I personally feel alot better after reading the whole article. I'm not happy with the local press that they originally saw fit to release half an articl with selected quotes.

Hicks has generally admitted that YES there WAS a problem, and that is why they had words with Klinsmann. They have since ironed out their differences and are happy for him to stay in charge. As he says, they never went any further with Jurgen.

Got to say I'm happy this has now been cleared up.
              Forwards.......

I should add i edited my post to add... that I don't actually think Rafa will stay for the 6m he'd be losing... he'll walk into a top job in Spain. It's more the love i believe he has for the club that 'may' make him want to ride this out. Time will tell though.

Furthermore, probably an appropriate time to add that i was told a while back that Rafa offered his resignation about two months ago (but it was refused)... i always take any info with a pinch of salt, but it worries me.

I completely agree I just don't know that whether this is simply handling the press badly or a sign of genuine mis-management. I have nothing to base an opinion on as I don't have any insider knowledge or previous impressions of G&H before they took over LFC to use for a comparison.

I'm thus going to give them time before passing judgment ( @ how arrogant that sounds). Rafa and G&H have backed themselves into a ****ing stupid corner with the press over this issue. Maybe long term getting things out in the open will help things but they have to back it up with credible action to stabalise the club.

It isn't an agenda FFS. It's a fact....a fact that you keep sweeping under the carpet and an issue that you have failed to address.

This is barely any different to the Jol situation. Just keep burying your head in the sand mate. You're pretty much a lone voice here against about a thousand other opinions. That should tell you something.

Not at all. Where did Hicks say that Rafa was informed and everything is resolved ?

I see, that's part of another public dismissal in a few weeks time.
