I read a few posts at the start and end.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Have yourself a drink Sami!Originally posted by desertscouser View PostIt makes me sick. Klinsmann is a f**king joke and to think that he clearly rejected us as well (thank god he did) rubs even more salt water in the wounds.
So, we went for a ****e manager to replace Rafa. And he told us to f**k off. Well done you stupid American *******s.
You've just made an enemy of yet another season ticket holder you stupid c**ts.
RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFAEL BENITEZ!

Moores, Parry, Hicks and Gillette are all a ****ing joke!
The fact that Moores and Parry couldn't keep up with the very best clubs in Europe since 1991 (especially off the pitch) and they sold the club to these two clowns just confirms my previously unsubstantiated theory about Moores and Parry.............. they are a pair of cluesless incompetent business men and Execs.
As for Hick and Gillette ..................... what a ****ing pair of useless ****ing ******s!

EXCLUSIVE by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo
TOM Hicks and George Gillett held a secret meeting with Jurgen Klinsmann to line him up as the next manager of Liverpool FC.
Hicks today insisted the talks would not have resulted in the immediate dismissal of Rafael Benitez and that Klinsmann was only "an insurance policy."
He told the ECHO: "We attempted to negotiate an option, as an insurance policy, to have him become manager if Rafa left for Real Madrid or other clubs that were rumoured in the UK press.
"Or in case our communication spiralled out of control for some reason."
The ECHO can also reveal:
* Had Liverpool crashed out of the Champions League the club’s owners would have tried to replace Benitez.
* A deal was almost agreed for Dubai International Capital to buy a minority share in the club in the autumn, only for talks to collapse over the valuation of the club.
* Hicks is hopeful for a financial restructure and that plans for the new stadium will be released by the end of this week.
For the full story, see today's Liverpool Echo.

Well, hate to say it but no surprise.
It confirms 2 things, firstly the Klinsmann stories were spot on. Secondly, the 2 wanks are actively plotting to get rid of Rafa.
What a ****-up, anyone who doesn't think otherwise now is living in la la land sorry.
Basically they are making Rafa's job impossible for him. This statement from hicks deliberately undermines the manager.
That's not all, this morning I heard that one of the options they are discussing is ofsetting debt against players.....
Who are our most valuble players and what happens to them if we get into financial trouble e.g. not qualifying for the champions league.

Did it occur to anybody else that the timing of Hicks' announcement may indicate negotiations with the banks have concluded?
Is it possible that the potential effect of today's news could influence RBS and Wachovia's decision? If so, the likelihood is that G&H already know one way or the other whether their financial restructuring plans have been successful. It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

The end of the Hicks statement says that both him and Gillete fully back Rafa. The press of course are only concentrating on the front end "headline" part.
FWIW I believe it's a crap way to conduct business but there you go, some people wanted honesty now you've got it!
If you get the entire statement and stay emotion free it's a fairly bland bit of info, in effect a company trying to ensure a key position will not be left vacant at a key time. Trouble is keeping emotion out is very difficult.I don't need a lift, I need ammunition

Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
