    Our pitch size

Ultra boring, I know, but does anyone know what our exact pitch size is these days, as it seems to have got a lot smaller over the years.

I read somewhere that it was now the smallest in the league.

I wonder if it's part of the reason why we can sometimes struggle to break sides down, as it makes it easier for teams to just sit in and close off space.

The lack of width at times is frightening.

That can't be right. 75 yards wide sounds way too much.

I've looked it up myself and there seem to be contrasting sizes. The most common is 110x72, which is tiny.

The Emirates is 120 yards long.

Says on that link that SJP is the same length as ours. That's wrong for a start, their pitch is huge.

I think Disco was tongue in cheek. Or was it just a typo.

Didn't mean to take the piss mate. Thought he genuinely made the tongue in cheek comment.

I found it was funny too but I thought Disco had just mangled his sentence.

PS fredo, it's "OFF the top of my head", btw.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
