This club exists to win trophies. It always has done and will always do. When people talk about our heritage and our past that's because it stood for something.

Being the best means buying the best players and this means spending top money. Money which we simply dont have because of the lack of sense in our commercial departments. We didnt have the foresight to look ahead and see what was coming. Man utd did and benefited from this brilliantly.

Like it or not charlie, this is the face of the modern game. If you dont like it go and watch bowls instead.

and now your telling us youd rather we won **** all than have sold up.

honestly,i think some people dream of days like this so they can bask in the spot light that a well received post/thread brings,no disrespect.
Fair point. I don't know either mate. I can't make my mind up either about Rafa.

But this isn't about him, or the players.

It's about the pathetic glory hunter streak that we now see from people on here.

Yes the yanks have acted ****in stupidly since they got here, but this is what people wanted, cunts with loadsamoney money, but the payoff is that they don't give a **** how they make it, and these foreign wannabee owner cunts who especially know **** all about what LFC and football means to us, it's part of our culture, it's important to us. They'll never understand that, David Moores at least did.

So now we have arseholes whinging away that they didn't get what they wanted with the new ownership, and using the yanks as a platform to rant because they aren't getting it their way.

Would've been a complete disaster. He's a pauper in this context and he also tried to pull the wool over our eyes.

weve got it, we have to accept what comes along with it good and bad.

torres good, undermining rafa bad...but life and lfc goes on.

and yes niall, you are a beaut
While I agree with the braod sweep of your comment I do feel that some of the PR work done by G&H (aided and abetted to be fair by Rafa) has been far less than competant. I'm willing to take the good and the bad in some respects but I really have seen no reason for the way they have presented themselves in the media and I also think they have shown some signs of not providing the financial muscle needed to move us forward commercially in the long run.

That said I'm appreciative of the improved transfer window in the summar and the fact that we have seen progress in design and to some extent finance of a new stadium.

My overall opinion on the new owners could go either way but they need to take action to stabalise the club now or we are in danger of having a horrible season.

And why did this happen? The club has been poorly run, but we have, as fans, to take some share of the blame on this one. The pathetic clamouring (re glory hunting) for more money played it's part.

                .

This part is ****ing bull****. The shambolic ticket office, kit not available at the official shop but available down the road at JJB, us being unable to match the spending power of the Mancs or have a top nothc academy for years like ARSEnal, hiring Grame Souness and Gerard Houllier is partly the fault of the supporters? WTF!!!

We used to be the countries big spenders, record fees for King Kenny and Digger, the Mancs built their evil empire from the ground up and didn't need the Yanks. So the fact that the Mancs jumped ahead of commercially and financially and that's partially the fault of the supporters.

                That's bull**** mate!

The club has been sold to the wrong people because the DIC deal would have meant that Parry and Moores would have been out.

So personally, Liverpool is run by morons and has been for quite a few years. Just because we wanted a takeover didn't mean we wanted a sugar daddy to bankroll us. We wanted people with better commercial knowledge who for example could have taken advantage of 2005 Istanbul, and sorted a new Stadium

However, useless ****ers sold us out to more useless ****ers (something which I thought would be impossible)

More or less says it all.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I don't trust all these foreigners though that just see it as a business venture. Shinawatra seems a decent lad who has a genuine interest in football. I think our loss was City's gain.

I'm sure if we had a billionaire scouser then we could keep the club amongst 'our own' (whatever that means), otherwise we needed to sell to compete. Fact of life.
                        Did we?

When did we win number 5? And on what budget?

Arsene Wenger, Arsenal. It can be done.

But oh no, people wanted the easy way out (sugar daddy) so they could live out their FM fantasies.

And now we're in no better position than we were before. But instead we've got people in charge who only care about the balance sheet, and who can blame them? That's why they bought us.

                              Thanks for being honest. Seriously.

You have a point. But why on earth did Moores decide to sell up after we'd won in Istanbul and the club was on the way up again?

Because we, as fans, are desperate for the league, and have been for some time, and Moores being a fan thought the same way. But instead of holding his nerve and trusting Rafa to get it done long term on a budget, he took the easy way out with a big payoff thinking it was the way forward for quicker success.

And let's be honest here, most fans felt the same way, some even wanted it.

Also Randy Lerner seems a very good owner you hear nothing of him just lets O'Neill get on with it also the ***** at Manure seem to be ok apart from putting the club in massive death, Fergie seems to get the multi millions to spend on big players and it seems to work maybe cause they are afraid of Fergie and lets face it he has COMPLETE control of that club from top to bottom
