Just look at the face: it's vacant, with a hint of sadness. Like a drunk who's lost a bet.

I am no financial expert but this is extremely worrying, within a year, costs have spiraled so much they were forced to go back and rejig the plans. The completion date has already slipped by two years and currently the date of completion is still a little nebulous.

What's to say that the development wont follow a similar path to that of the New Wembley, increasingly rising costs and a delayed completion date when in construction?

In addition, what is to the say the politics of the situation does not change as well, how long will the club be guaranteed the grants, do we have to reapply for planning permission for the revised stadium. Is the club still bound into investing into the area?

Arsenal is being used as an example; however, I believe they were able to get a huge sum of money for selling the land at Highbury which helped greatly with the financing of the stadium.

We are a huge global brand owing to our success in the 70's and 80's, another spell in limbo could be crippling with today's fickle Global supporters, especially with the proliferation of the Premiership around the globe.

i see no "overwhelming evidence" to refute a more rational interpretation of events:

that they are business men first and foremost and they are not well versed in english football, british nor spanish culture. i think they are more free with their throwaway quotes than traditional british chairmen and i think they havent adapted to the sensationalist uk press. i think theyve been hit by some very turbulent financial conditions that are forcing them to reassess their plans. i think they are in it for the long term and that lfc is a goldmnine that will serve its owners and its fans very well for decades to come.

well see whose right and well see if weve lost our club

i think when it comes to "ego" you could give anyone on this site a run for their money mate - fcuckin good luck to ya, youre a pleasure to disagree with

I have to say I have my reservations about them and would naturally tend to side with Rafa in disagreements. However I think there has been a tendency for many people to see only the bad in them at the minute and IMO that is narrow minded and unfair.

Having said that I think that the owners have a lot to learn in terms of how to communicate with fans (and if Rafa is to be believed with people at the club as well) and have a lot to prove. they should be judged by their actions and so far for me these have had good and bad points but the style in which they have performed those actions has certainly left a bad taste in the mouth.

Here's hoping you are right about the 'goldmine serving fans and owners' alike.

Torres will not leave - if Rafa stays or goes.
Mascherano is an entirely different matter though, and if he does leave I just pray that he chooses a non-English team.

If he leaves us, it's likely to be for one of

They are ruining our club, those that can't or won't acknowlege that are burrying their heads in the sand.

                      None.

There's an owner for you. The biggest Liverpool game in a season and doesn't know the date. Brilliant.
I couldn't tell you the date without looking it up
I've a **** memory for that sort of thing.
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

Sometimes I wonder if Hicks is Dunk. He acts in the same way.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
