Doesn't the fact that Klinsmann was the man for them suggest that Mourinho isn't, as he was touted at the time, first choice to take over?

See, i dont think Klinsmann WAS first choice. I think they may well have been sounding him out, indeed AS an insurance policy...but not because they thought rafa would walk, more because they were looking at a backup option in case their first choice wasnt going to materialise.

I have nothing but contempt for these two jokers. I may not think Rafa can win us the league, but i still have a huge fondness for the bloke and he's maintained his dignity in all of this. I'd happily see the yanks run out of town and rafa stay.

Pretty hard to see it any other way regardless of what your opinion is of Rafa. Despite our form ATM he does not deserve to be treated like this. Only justification for Hicks is to save a buck while the clubs image gets an immeasurable hammering

It's a possible scenario but the timing of these outbursts by Hicks are just coming to frequently for them to be mistakes.
