According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

In my opinion, your perspective is askew.

        1. Considering the amount of money we recouped through player sales, added to the Champions’ league bounty and the highest television deal in the history of the Premiership, £20 million was not a huge sum to invest in the club’s own money, at least Moores dipped into his own pockets.

Their stadium plans have made us the laughing stock of the footballing world, unveiling a grand plan which they could not afford, setting timeframes they cannot keep and mortgaging our club and history to finance something we have not seen.

        2. It is fact that they offered the manager position to another candidate, back-up or not, it makes the current manager’s job extremely difficult.

        3. In regards to the third point, tepid performance in the league? It was the poor results in the Champions’ league which caused the Americans to court Klinsmann. At that time we were unbeaten in the league and handily placed. Our recent results have not been great; however, the current situation is probably a major factor and itis clearly affecting the player’s performance. Nonetheless, we are still closer to top position, at this stage in the season than in the previous four years and have only lost two games.

        4. The Champions’ league debate that Benetiz favours that over the league is nonsense, put forth by Sky TV and regurgitated by the brain washed masses, along with their critique of zonal marking and rotation. Two finals in three years cannot be dismissed, this is a phenomenal achievement

Well said. There's some decent perspective for you.

G&H position is indefensible at the moment.

Your arguement just doesn't stack, they didn't fund the Torres deal and they can't afford to fund the fancy stadium that they promised.

As for the press comment, partly true, however, G&H have been fuelling that press fire, something which as owners is dispicable.

Rafa's poor position in the league comments, yes, however, Rafa's job has suddenly become much harder. At least before he wasn't expected to win because he had no money, now, he still doesn't have the support of the board but he is still expected to win. If G&H had backed Rafa then IMO we would be doing better than we are now. G&H are destabilising the club which is having an impact on the pitch, again which is making Rafa's job even harder.

Your final point about whether Rafa is up to it in the league is not really relevant to the G&H debate.

              This is where I stopped.

They didn't. It was financed by a loan...a loan that the club carries, if I remember correctly.
              Me too.

There is too much ant-Benitez sentiment from the owners at the club right now. So they can **** off.

Basically, Rafa isn't allowed to say anything in response to anything. So he couldn't say what you want, and he couldn't tell the owners they're a bunch of pricks.

Nothing he can do mate, they've successfully tied his hands, while suggesting that their only aggenda was to look out for the club, in case he jumped ship.

                Laughable.

I was foolish enough to give these sons of bitches the benefit of the doubt but they're clearly sh!t houses who don't deserve to own the club. Our performances on the pitch this season have been very very average and as such there should be pressure on Rafa to get things right. But it's unacceptable for the manager to be disrespected the way he has. And to blatantly offer the job to Klinsmann is a disgrace. We're not in safe hands. Our owners will make Klinsmanlike decidions for as long as they're around.

Stick to owning baseball and hockey teams you pair of c**ts. You're no longer welcome anywhere on Merseyside.

They are building us a new stadium regardless of what your attitude is towards the financing or planning of same. That is a positive thing. The design may have changed but you cannot blame the owners for the worldwide credit squeeze. We're talking millions here.

I referred to the torres signing just as an example of the increased purchasing power under the owners - lets not forget that there were other signings as well as FT - babel for instance (11m if im not mistaken).

Rafa made his own bed in relation to that matter.

Agreed that the CL position was probably the greatest worry for the owners at that time. However, i dont think you can blame to owners for our results since that time.

I said in my post that I thought he has done a fantastic job so far and nowhere did i put forth that he prefers the CL to the PL - just that he appears to be better equipped to win the latter than the former. Which is true. As you say he reached two finals in three years which is phenomenal. I alluded to the fact that fans will not be happy if this trend was to continue i.e annual success in the CL but no title challenge.

Excellently put, added to that how they have tried to fund the stadium and the transfers this summer Moores could've done the same thing and is the very reason people wanted him to sell.

Jazzmaster, are you married or have a girlfriend?

If you are then what would you say if your wife/girlfriend told you that she is sleeping with another man but that she only did it to make sure that she has someone just in case?
