I like Balague, he has a good sense of humour. When the commentator compared Newcastle to Sevilla or Napoli in their respective leagues you could hear the giggles creeping out in Balague's response. For the record I'm almost sure the presenter is a Sunderland fan so I think he was being entirely tongue in cheek himself

I disagree. I thoroughly enjoyed his book about our 2004-2005 season and whenever I see him on the telly he's always interesting to listen to.

Given the way the Spanish and English leagues have moved ahead of the rest of Europe in recent times he is at a level above most Journos when it comes to talking about them.

if i recall correctly he seemed to be in the know regarding the torres transfer, i remember him giving an interview in the close season
