Thanjk you.
Paul.S
think you lost the plot mate, its not me thats outdone myself. i personally hold you and several other gob****es responsible for the chaos this club is in.
I think, in all honesty, that the best thing for all concerned would be for them to sell.
I guess we'll see what happens in due course.
I agree with them selling but to who???Dic???I`m not sure.
The yanks must know that investment in the team and sucess on the field is most important.
they didn`t make millions by being stupid in buisness.unfortunately i think they have no idea of the right answers when confronted by journalists.american frankness in the english press is easy pickings for the Press in Engerland.
Now first off, i want to clarify that i'm definitely not criticising him for that comment. I dont know what the players may or may not have been instructed to say so i'm not going to have a pop.
But there's been a few questions on here of late, asking when (or indeed if) the players would come out in support of the manager, and if not, why not?
Tonight, Geoff Shreeves gave Gerrard the perfect opportunity to do just that and, contrary to the fact that recently, it HAS been about the manager, Stevie says it isnt.
What are our thoughts on this?
It stuck out like a sore thumb for me. It would've been easy and even almost the 'done thing' for Stevie to say something along the lines of "It's about winning games, but we also have a strong unity here and we're all working together, with the manager to do the best that we can. We always have his support and he has ours, as it should be" etc. But he chose to say that it's not about the manager. He's right that it's about the team, but for me, the manager is a part of that team, even if he doesnt don the shirt and get soaked out on the pitch.
Anyone read anything into Gerrard's comments?
firstly I should point out i have not seen the said interview.
However it has been fairly clear that the players have been instructed to make no comment on this topic, IMO. In light of yesterdays debacle I would expect that has been reinforced to them and in particular Gerrard.
The media smell a ****storm here at the moment and would love to drive a wedge between Rafa and the players. Rafa and Gerrard sound as though they have handled what they surely knew what was coming rather well. I suspect the references to the "team" from Stevie comes from Rafa as I would think Rafa is in the process of rallying the troops anyway considering our poor form of late.
As long as the players say as little as possible, the less material the press have and that is for the best. We need to refocus our efforts onto the pitch and get everyone working as a team again ASAP. If you take Stevie's comments in that sense, what he said was spot on.
your in a tunnel mate.see the big picture.rafa smiled his way through that interview.the twenty people watching the game with me said he looked relaxed and was smiling at the reporters attempt to draw him into a controversial statement.
I think he knows ALL the FACTS,unlike the average poster here mate.
Your calling me out alot because I refuse to ASSUME that there is a HUGE problem at the club. All I do is listen to those INVOLVED and asscess the situation from there.Tonight Rafa said nothing to make me worried.SG refused to comment when given the PERFECT opportunity to BACK his manager(The Liverpool WAY).
I`m more concerned that the players think Rafa is deluded than the owners.

he is human like the rest of us. no matter how much you want to dress it up, his boss called him out in public FACT

WHY NOT WAIT FOR THAT EVIDENCE?
"People from Liverpool have got something about them and, if they’re not happy about something, they let people know.” Jamie Carragher 15/1/2008
Some quality arguing in this thread boys (with the usual suspect right in the middle), keep it up
On another note I thought Stevie's comments were a bit odd at first, but then I realised he just seemed a bit tired of all the bull**** so didn't want to say anything either way
"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"
LF Clove aka AFII 11/10/07
"i personally hold you and several other gob****es responsible for the chaos this club is in"
Last night the team won 5-0 and we progressed to the next round of the FA cup.
Carra's 500th game,Gerrard got a Hat trick, Pennant looked classy and Rafa smiled.
Let's enjoy the moment rather than trying to make something up out of bland run of the mill post match comments.
But wait a minute.....
I've just looked at my tea leaves....So Kraft are back in for us eh ?

I read it as deflection. Liverpool first and foremost is about the team and Rafa is part of the team. I took it as deflection and a united stance. It also avoids more headlines about the manager. Let it go.
The thing that interested me was the speed of Gerrard's response. Shreeves had barely asked the question before Gerrard gave the answer. It was obviously an answer that had been prepared before and calculated to be the least controversial answer and unlikely to lead to more questions.
Many players have media advisors, hence the usual answers to the usual question: "How about the hatrick?" "It's not about me its about the win." and all that stuff. This was the same, a zero controversy answer.
