Footballers are apart of the machine, modern day corporate whores. Always afraid to express themselves, afraid to offend, afraid to risk their endorsements and wages.

I NEVER get attached to footballers anymore, **** em all................

Somewhat ironic of those two gob****es to gag the players, when hicks has been polishing his pedestal and spouting ****e to the media.
I agree but something I've just thought of is that maybe it was Rafa who briefed the players to say nothing so that no more fuel is added to the fire. Just an opinion of course but Rafa had a chance to say stuff as well and chose not to.

In fairness though I know very little on the situation and am merely speculating.

All I know for a fact is that I'm very concerned at the situation we've found ourselves in.

It's a good point. There are fewer personalities.

                Exactly.

Perhaps he was hedging his bets by not commenting

That's certainly a feasible possibility and knowing how professional rafa is, it wouldnt surprise me.

It stood out so obviously though, i thought.

I think Stevie said it perfectly when he scored a hat trick and warmly shook hands with Rafa upon being substituted.

Steven Gerrard holds the aces in that game though, if they try to sell him, he can just refuse to move and short of giving him a free transfer (which is absurd), there's nothing the yanks could do.

What if it is Rafa that has said that the issue it not to be spoken about and that The Liverpool Way starts again here and now.

Yes I would because what purpose would it serve only childish retribution. The "men" of the club need to stand up and be counted and start acting like men, get on with the football and leave the **** to the ****heads.
