It'd be bollocks, but this is the media we're talking about.
They can twist anything mate, but the less you give them....
You can agree with me, or you can be wrong.

Yeah, to be honest it stood out for me as well. I just think that if they were allowed to say more they would.

Whether it is Rafa himself, or one of our esteemed owners, I think the players have been muted. ( Is muted even a word?)

The next few days should tell us all we need to know. I'm fearful of what the future may hold though.

Whether you're someone who backs Rafa or not, as I know not everyone is 100% convinced this season ( that's not a dig by the way because you're not the only one who has doubts), he deserves much better treatment than he's had.

Yes of course, but you dont think that Stevie's comments were an example of NOT giving them something, do you?

we're not going to see eye to eye on this one, i'm normally all for keeping a dignified silence on these issues, but when I feel a threat to my club I think a suitable retaliation is in order, and to me thats how a man stands up and gets counted. But i know we won't agree, so i guess we'll have to leave it there, nothing wrong with that tho

It's a fine line on this 'backing' rafa business. I love the guy and i have no greater wish than to see him proving the doubters wrong and delivering a title challenge.

Based on the evidence i've seen before me though, i cant see i've seen enough to suggest he will.

That holds no correlation to how i think he's been treated and what he deserves. He's been hung out to dry and regardless of what i think of his chances are to mount a title challenge, the man himself deserves far more. It's been disgraceful.

I totally get what you're saying but to give it a balanced view, we have to remember that Hicks & Gillett are effectively Gerrard's employers. Slating them publicly is what got rafa into this mess, dont forget. Stevie not wanting to potentially follow suit and piss them off, isnt that surprising, i suppose.

I do actually. Stevie is not a professional PR man so is never going to give the perfect repsonse. I think he did his best to avoid the subject and get us to concentrate on the football, which is what I wish we could do

it's possible that might be in his mind, but surely he's as close to untouchable as someone can be, i mean can you imagine the uproar if they tried to sell him, heads would roll

Lad scores a hatrick tonight and some people still find a way to criticize him.

It appears that we've ended up with a couple of Doug Ellis clones in charge and it's hard to see where this will end.

The least they could have done is give Rafa the backing he deserves, and I don't mean in transfer fees on that I mean i terms of showing some morale support.

If they genuinely wanted to find out about football then why not ask the manager of the club they own instead of some German who'd never managed a top flight club?

                                It defies belief.
