Liverpool star John Arne Riise has admitted his surprise at how Rafa Benitez is being treated by the club's American owners.
Reds co-owner Tom Hicks raised further doubts over Benitez's long-term future at Anfield by revealing earlier this week that he and George Gillett had held talks with Jurgen Klinsmann about possibly replacing the Spaniard.
Benitez's position at Liverpool has been the subject of intense speculation for the last few months after his much-publicised row with the American owners over the club's transfer policy.
Both parties held clear-the-air talks in December with Benitez claiming any problems had been resolved.
However, Hicks' revelation of the talks with Klinsmann has thrown Benitez's future back into the spotlight.
Riise is disappointed that Liverpool's owners held talks with Klinsmann about Benitez's job, and the Norwegian insists all the players are behind the former Valencia coach and are determined to help him by getting results on the pitch.
