    Positive action

Guys, I don't know how much good it would do, but perhaps if enough of us bombard the banks, it would make them think/delay decisions and allow AN Other interested party to come in. If you fancy it, here are a few emails I found on the web, and a template letter you can adjust to suit your mood.

If you are up for this, post in here to keep the thread visible.

    Dear sir/ madam,

I am writing to you as it has been widely reported that you are on the verge of completing a deal with Messrs Hicks & Gillett to refinance their purchase of Liverpool Football Club.

You may not be aware, but there is growing discontent and ill feeling towards Hicks & Gillett from Liverpool fans around the world, due to the various negative press that has come about following their purchase of the club.

There are a number of protests planned, with a further boycott of the club’s merchandising. The feeling amongst the fans (customers) is they want these two out of the club at all costs.

I would advise you to consider if this is the sort of publicity you would like attached to your excellent institution, and whether it would be such a sound investment to a business that is about to lose its most loyal customers.

    Yours faithfully

I'm sure the bank take letters/e-mails from internet football fans into consideration when deciding to give multi-millionaire business a loan.

"a business that is about to lose its most loyal customers."

So I bank with Natwest, who are owned by RBS. Are you suggesting that I would stop banking with them if they agree the loan?

RBS are also a client of the company I work for, so I'm not sending them ****

No, I'm suggesting that some fans are thinking of "boycotting the club’s merchandising.". The customer in this case is the fan.

I'm also not for one minute suggesting you send this from your work account, I'm sure you can set up a personal account that will not be traced back to your company.

If enough people email these institutions, it will get out, which shows our strength of feeling, which in turn could help make the Hicks & Gillett reconsider their ownership

Well i agree with the idea in priciple, the idea of taking action, look what the Scum fans put the Glazers through, did'nt scare them off so that worries me a little, But hey we MUST do something, if we ALL just stopped buying anything Liverpool for 2 weeks, while all this plays out & is in the spotlight, if Hick's see's the effect on revenue, if there is any i dont know that there will be, it may just help to sway his descision, If indeed an offer is to be made to him by Whoever. There, that's my input on positive action, now where's those bank e-mails.
