Maybe it's tactical instructions as I've said, but look at Torres, Gerrard even Crouch, they try and attck the ball crossed into the box, quite a few times this season Dirk has failed to do so.

Maybe his bottling it is purely because of a lack of confidence. Who knows?

I don't think he's as bad as he's howing right now, last season proves that, but he's not up to it, and I'm sorry Paul but we haven't failed him mate, not even close.
We have failed him in the sense that he has not been used in the only position he can look good.

All season you have been on his case, even before games kick off. Even in topics nothing to do whatsoever with kuyt ive seen you manage to turn it into a pop at him.

The reason I ask is because there are many other players in the squad that have not done enough this season yet you hardly ever give them a mention. Why the constant obsession with just him?
          Nope, it's not just him.

Pennant's another I've made my mind up about, as is Voronin. Riise. They can't go soon enough.

But this: "we've failed him". I just don't understand what you mean by that mate. I can say he's a bottler and you can disagree with that, it'a clear opinion in relation to his performance. But how can we as fans fail him?

Wehere did I say we as fans?

I meant we as a club for not using him in a way that would have got the best out of him

Doesn't that mean "Rafa"? Who else had an influence on where he plays?

You mean Rafa's failed him then?

He bought him, picks the team and tactics.

And we can agree that he doesn't play instead of Torres, no chance, no way.

Unless Rafa plays two out and out forwards, which he won't.

I agree Kuyt's playing out of position to a degree, but still, he's playing in an advanced position and that shouldn't stop him from getting into the box.

And I have to say, when he has played as a central striker this season he's been poor for mine.

Course it means Rafa. He`s the manager. He likes to have a deep lying striker, he always has.

We have had some great ones down the years too, its nothing new.

BUT he is completely wrong IMO if he thinks Dirk is it.

Torres could do it, easily, he has the pace, skill, control and eye for a pass to pull it off to perfection IMO and still **** a load of goals in for himself.

I would definitely swap there 2 positions, I believe the team would benefit.

                      Yeah I agree totally coops.

I think Kuyt would work well with Yossi and Torres with Babel

Although i liked him Dirk is in a different league mate
Kuyt is better. I only compared him to Heskey because both of them work(ed) hard, was played out of position and lost his self confidence.

The situation is the same but Kuyt is the better player.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                          Rubs eyes in disbelief

Hold on. You'd swap Torres's and Kuyt's positions? Torres has scored 17 goals this season playing right up front. Meanwhile when Dirk's played there, and he has a few times, he's failed to score or even be a threat.

                          Christ on a bike.

Each to their own and all that, but **** me.

Yup I would. Moving Torres 10 yards back up the pitch would not affect him in the slightest IMO. In fact he`d probably enjoy seeing more of the ball.

But it does affect kuyt, the lad just cant play that role.

I doubt the world would explode through asking 2 players to swap positions. If it didnt work, swap it back.

                              -----Babel----Gerrard---Kewell----
                              --------------Torres-------------

That's probably our best attacking formation. We need to replace Kewell with a better option then we will be flying.

I would have Gerrard and Aurelio on the wings and Torres and Babel up top.
Gerrard and Aurelio are our best crossers and would love the quick movement of the two boys.

No Riise,Kewell,Pennant,Kuyt,Crow and Crouch near the team for me.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
