    Ex-Reds rally round Rafa

All nicked from the Sunday Mirror :

    Barney Rubble

European Cup-winning hero Kennedy said: "My fear is that if Rafa does go he will take with him the heart and soul of the Kop, because they love him.
"In all my years connected with Liverpool I've not seen any other manager who has the respect and adoration from the support that Benitez has now.

"Of all the managers since 1990 to have been given the task of bringing home that title, Rafa is the one most likely to do it. Getting rid of him would be a crime."

    Aldo

John Aldridge, once the goalscoring King of the Kop, said: "Rafa remains the man for me - and also for over 90 per cent of those I talk to in my phone-in show.

"Maybe it hasn't dawned on the Americans, but Rafa had to get rid of so much deadwood when he took over.

"The fans know it and that is why, even three-and-a-half years down the line, they remain patient and keep faith in him.

"I believe that if you took Cristiano Ronaldo out of Old Trafford and put him into the Liverpool team we would be better than Manchester United.
"In the process of transforming the squad he has still managed a Champions League victory, plus another appearance in the final, won the FA Cup and taken the club to their highest ever points total.

"He is a top boss who will end the long, long wait - but if there is one thing I'd say, he should cut back on the rotation policy that is a source of frustration for fans and his own players alike.

"Rafa may only be one worldclass attacker away from the Holy Grail. That's how close I think he really is, despite a few ropey results recently.

"Sack him? I'd give him the money he needs to finish the job.

    And finish it he will
    ."

    Razor (houghton not fat arse)

Houghton said: "The problem for Rafa is he's third in line when it comes to buying big stars.

"The top continentals either fancy Manchester United or Chelsea - or sign for one of the other big London clubs. That's what made signing Fernando Torres so impressive, because he is without doubt a world star and has lived up to that billing.

"He needs more match-winners like Torres. At least he has doubled the number of players who can swing games, because in the past he only had Steven Gerrard.

"Given time he will bring back the title to Anfield. I have no doubt."

People are laughing at us on here for singing songs/protesting etc. claiming it wont do a thing.

Maybe theyre right, but I doubt it. If we all rally together, players, ex players, and fans I believe we CAN **** these 2 clowns off.

We are on to them, we have seen through them and we are in the process of prising there grubby little fingers off our club.

Pity more of the current players couldn't come out in support of him

There's been loads this week Kenny, Jockey, Lawro, Rushie, Aldo just to name a few

I seriously don't think there would be this level of support from past players and fans for any other club in the country - Hicks hasn't got a ****ing clue what he's taking on here, and we're gonna make sure he knows about it

that's what I really want to see, I understand why it won't tho, I think the most likely to come out and say something would be Reina, seems to have a bit of a mouth on him
