One thing that needs to be considered is that DIC themselves have not denied the story. Having been gazzumped once before, I highly doubt that they would let this story run and run if they really had no intention of making an offer and buying the club.

I'd love it all to be true but at the moment people are latching onto a media led bandwagon without any real substance.

That's fair enough, Al. I live in hope but I guess it really is a case of wait and see.

So we're better off than 12 months ago. I'll live with that.
how will you live with the next 12 months and beyond if they stay?

            Yep.

I think people are getting their hopes up artificially. Yes nearly ever media outlet is reporting that DIC are interested, may make a bid, but it hasn't happened, and to assume it will and investing so much faith while doing so is just leading yourself up for a massive fall.

This place will be hell if the takeover doesn't transpire.

I know that papers make stuff up all the time but when they have quotes, especially as large a quote as they had this time, it's usually true
              Quote from who?

              Has HICKS said he's selling?

Has DIC said they are buying or preparing to buy?

I'm sorry mate but that's ****e, Moores could've borrowed money to buy the likes of Torres or whoever and he would've been slated for doing so. But while he did place some debt on the club he was never wreckless with it.

When Hicks bought the Texas Rangers he broke the league record with his first signing, then allowed the 'franchise' to stagnate ever since. The fact that they haven't used any of their own money for the Torres or Babel deals only shows he's willing to do less for us than the Rangers IMO. If you look at his involvements with the Rangers, Stars or Corinthians then it points to a very bleak future indeed.

Not sure who the quotes were from but there were quotes in the Echo about DIC buying the club. Who those quotes are from is anybodys guess though.

i was also a bit disapointed at the length of the bascombe article today; was expecting more detail

As reported on the BBC Sport site. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ol/7199247.stm

IMO this latest stuff by Hicks means nothing. He may or may not want to sell butif he does, he's hardly likely to come out and say so as it would seriously weaken his position in selling to DIC.

Its obvious something is going on with DIC and the club by the fact that every major news agency is goingwith it.

When the BBC says it understands, it means it knows. The fact the Beeb have led the way is very important IMO.
