Defensive lapses cost us that game. We were excellent till we conceeded, and should have simply won that game 2- 0.

Last season we had horrendous problems scoring from the bench in the league.

This season has been better (I think) but it takes us going behind or a team drawing level for Rafa to send on the attacking players. Tonight it clearly wasn't working for Kuyt despite some good link up play but did he pull him for someone who could carry a bit more threat?

To be fair Crouch has not been any better in the recent games he has played.

Agree totally about Babel, Kewell just doesn't have the pace to challenge his man.

He played against Luton and scored, last game before this one.

I don't care if a striker is a lazy feck, if he puts the ball in the back of the net, thats all that matters to me.

I would happily see Kuyt(decnt first half but 2nd half he was his usual self) and Aurelio never play for us again. Both not good enough.
Masherano was superb, why we haven't already signed him is quite frankly staggering.
Gerrard and Torres both well below bar.
Crouch, great goal, he really does need to start from now on.

To be fair he had a good frst half but was back to his usual self in the second half.

First half he did okay, set up the goal, played alright.

Second half he reverted to type.

This isn't the time to criticize Rafa, but once again he brought off Benayoun and moved Kuyt wide right. I just don't understand why he does this, and keeps doing it. It just doesn't work for the player or the team.
