Some people on here need to accept that some fault does actually lie with Rafa.

Players have under performed, our finishing is terrible, Rafa persists in playing one of the weakest strikers in the league and does make changes too late. Combine this with the media circus that is focusing on this club at the moment and you have a recipe for disaster. On top of this there are some very good managers with decent teams playing very well, Villa, Everton and Citeh. We are now worse off than the same stage last season.

There is now a big 3 not a big 4 and the second tier of teams of which we now belong have done so with far less to spend. This opinion is not based on tonights result but on the majority of the season. Its no fluke that we're 6th like some people seem to believe.

Its not all Rafas fault, nobody can justify that, but there are a number of people who are not performing and that does actually include the manager.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

struggled in the champions league, terrible in the league, out of the carling cup , failed to beat the top 3 at home in the league. we have not progressed at all , yes we have better players but we are not a better team, the stats and the points dont lie.

if it was my money going in, i would want answers to these questions , would you not?
its not their money though is it? not one penny has come from their pockets.
i agree we don't look as good this year- but not with your summation that the americans have the right to question anything about it.

rafa has made mistakes imo- his treatment of crouch in the face of kyuts ****eness. putting all left back eggs in heinze basket in the summer.
but its obvious that he has been undermined from the top and just because we've just heard about it doesn't mean it hasn't been going on for months.
so i can't expect to judge him in a fair context comapred to other managers who have their bosses faith- especially as those we are expected to compete with either have had at least ten years in the job or an open chequebook to spend 24m in the january transfer window just to cover a couple of absentees

"At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques"

Eh, he was marking someone else and came off him his man to close down the shot it was good defending.

Also, if Harewood scores another over head kick I'll give you £1000.

Pointing the finger of blame won't get us anywhere. It's there for all to see the club from top to bottom is in turmoil. The manager and the team are struggling to cope with what is going on. It's time for us all to rally around the club not slate the manager and players. The sooner the yanks **** off the better.

When DIC take over, Rafa will need to stop looking in Aldi, Netto and Lidl and start to shop in Waitrose and Marks. If he buys tat, expect them results on the pitch.

Steven, how much of the events of this week affected the players and distracted them?

"Well it's not just this week, you know, it's been going on for some time now. It's certainly not helping the players, but I've gotta be careful what I say about the situation, but it's certainly not helping the team."

How much as players do you know what's going on at that level?

"We know what's going on but as players you've got a job to do on the pitch and you try and put what's going on off the pitch in the back of your mind, but sometimes it's impossible when it's everyday."
well their you go it is affecting the players and it isnt a bull**** excusethe uncertanty will spread to the players will affect their performance it shouldnt have lead to the two goals tonight but the overall play and feeling in the players it will.

Their are many players who shouldnt be in the team but thats down to financies and Rafa having to scrape the barrel, the only bad by Rafa has made has really been Kuyt, but outside things might be affecting him as well.

We need a left winger and a left back, we can then move Babel into a forward role, with arbeloa, agger, carra, skratel, new lB. Their is a balance their same with the midfield a balance is being formed a lw will really help with that.

This will allow more ballance up front with babel and torres.

This was going to be a learning curve no matter what with the new players but everything else has complitulated elsewhare which is having a noc on affect.

If we finnish in the top four it will be dissapointing but i will say well done Rafa because he has handle the situation perfectly.

Also if we do go into the eufa cup it isnt the greatest but Bayern dont care and they have a fantastic herratige and jus as big as profile as us.

We shoudlnt be taling about Rafa leaving no matter what the result we need to get beind him.

If you call being in the wrong zone and turning like a chicken that is afraid of the ball good defending then I agree with you.

When you try to block a shot then you try to make yourself as big as possible. Aurelio turned and made himself as small as possible.

i agree whole-heartedly with this statement.

i think everyone has underperformed. at the end of the season if the results are not good enough, it will come down to 1 man, and thats rafa.

i think motivation has been poor at times (over the season), selections baffle me, where was babel tonight, aurelio on at left back when villa score so much in the air from frees,

i look fitter than harry and the only excercise i get is shagging.

im getting texts off people having a right old laugh at us, this is happening way too much this season and what worries me is that i dont think we are nearer to manu than we were numerous years ago, i think we have better players but not a better team, come the end of the season , i hope the4 points tally proves me wrong

Nonsense. We are a better squad now than in 2005-2006. We are just not being managed properly.
