Thanjk you.

We didn't deserve to concede 2 goals tonight - damned unlucky in my book and a good team performance overall, but we just need to get that killer instinct to end games when we're on top.
On a side note, I'm getting more concerned with Carra's erratic clearances. Ok, defend 1st and all that, fine, but so many clearances just seem to fall to opposition players around the midfield areas and quite a few that are cleared when under little pressure. I love Carra and am no way advocating dropping him but this aspect of his play concerns me. Sometimes I think if we are to move forward perhaps we need someone to be able to play the ball better from the back to go along with Agger. Of course, this is only a small point and on the whole has nothing to do with us losing 2 goals tonight. It's not a dig at Jamie, just something I hope he works on as he gets older and improves that side of his game.
As good as mascherano was today i dont think he should have started...its a home game and alonso would have offered us more offensively. Kuyt -we all know whats he is capable off or rather incapable.Benayoun apart from the goal offered us nothing much...we lacked width to stretch villa both from midfielders and also fullbacks which also i thought contributed to torres being rather ineffective...the lad had not much space to work with , always seemed some defender close to him.
In short we were predictable and lacked imagination.
Just got in from the match. Tonight was one of those again. Played quite well created chances yet Villa, who were absolute dog****, ended 2-1 up due to two high balls in to the box from freekicks. We should have defended better but that's the way the cookie crumbles I suppose.
Rafa got it spot on with his subs though and Villa were hanging on in the last minute or two.
Great goal by Crouch...he should start with Torres next match.
Whilst I understood the Anti Yank songs, I do have to consider whether or not this team would have benefited, more, from hearing THEIR names sang with such passion, the old songs, the Rafa chant.
Support before condemnation.
Singing for what you believe in, rather than for what you oppose. I think the banners may have been enough to get the opposition point across.
I have to wonder whether a team so absolutely low on confidence and admittedly affected by what is going on in the backroom and in the papers would have benefited more from hearing support for THEM. After all, we admit that what is happening off the pitch is affecting them. You have to wonder how they could possibly have put that to one side and concentrated on the game when they were reminded of it for a full ninety minutes.

The banners weren't enough as it could have been laughed off as a few nuts. All of the kop singing it makes the point that it is everyone that fels that way. I would have been happier if people around the directors box had joined in.

None of that could have helped the players, is all I am saying, as they would have been completely helpless to switch off to what is going on and concentrate on playing football because there it was, constant, for ninety minutes. Hardly a Scouser Tommy to be heard. No Ste Gerrard being ****ing Ard.
Very little support for THEM, is all I am saying, and I do believe they need that more than ever right now.

It would have been like picking a scab, for them.
Most of the songs were not anti yank. Most of the time the normal songs were sung but there was a good bit of yank baiting.

There needs to be SOME balance.
To be honest, I thought there was more singing for the team (and louder too) than there has been for a while.

Heard barely a thing on TV. Especially after we went 2-1 down, which was about when we needed it.
I agreed with the singing. Honestly, don't get me wrong, I did, but I just don't think listening to that for a full ninety minutes is going to help the team to concentrate and get their heads straight. Fair enough, protest it for a a bit, but then get behind the team. That cannot be helping them.
Its like when you do something shameful and are trying to forget about it, but everyone keeps reminding you, and your stomach falls each and every time.
