Most of the songs were not anti yank. Most of the time the normal songs were sung but there was a good bit of yank baiting.

From the TV I would say a hell of a lot more than there was actual support for the team. It was a good fifteen minutes before I heard a Fields of Anfield Road and even that was drowned out by the Lying *******s chant.

My tuppence worth : We dominated the game in the first half without really threatning. The first 20 minutes of the 2nd half we were superb. Passing, moving, creating chances but we could not score.
At that point I told the Mrs we are going to concede. It was not a guess but more like "it happened before it will happen again" sadly it did with a double whammy of goals.
Sometimes in the 1st half I felt we had no game plan, there was no cohesion, no build up just hopeful forward passes to Torres & Kuyt.
Then after we went 2-1 down the pattern continued. Mascherano at times was outside the box looking to pass but there was no RED shirts..in the last 15 minutes, 1-2 down and our most forward player was our defensive midfielder. What that tells me "lack of confidence".
Our lads have lost their confidence. If you want the ball you WILL call for it, make a run, do fooking something. But we didnt and thanks to Crouchy we got a point.
Now to RAFA, it still puzzles me why he only gives Crouch 10 minutes !!!
Torres today was AWFUL, TERRIBLE..as a matter of fact one of his worst matches for us..no first touch..could not pass a simple 5 yarder and looked jaded.
Why did RAFA not sub him for Crouch earlier than the 80th minute ???
Apart from that I cant understand why so many here blame the boss for tonights draw.
One last thought, this season is shaping up like 04/05. Dodgy in the league BUT flying in Europe. Take my advice lads and book yer trips to MOSCOW cos #6 is coming home.

To me it was just another boring predictable Liverpool performance. Hoofing from the back, no wide play, Yossi in every game cuts inside and always lacks the end product. Gerrard goes missing and Babel is brought on too late.

Disagree to a degree because i thought Arbeloa pushed forward really well providing good width, exposing Young at the same time.

Rafa got that right IMO.

As good as mascherano was today i dont think he should have started...its a home game and alonso would have offered us more offensively. Kuyt -we all know whats he is capable off or rather incapable.Benayoun apart from the goal offered us nothing much...we lacked width to stretch villa both from midfielders and also fullbacks which also i thought contributed to torres being rather ineffective...the lad had not much space to work with , always seemed some defender close to him.

In short we were predictable and lacked imagination.

I just loved the noise the first 15 minutes.

And after approx 10 minutes, with the Rafa Benitez chant, it seemed like almost the whole stadium was singing it. It sounded truly awesome, even on the telly. Massive respect.


Imagine if there could be more of that atmosphere....

TORRES has not long made the footballing descision of his career, signing a 6yr deal & finally leaving Spain, after i might add many offers off UTD, now he finds himself in the middle of a crisis at a club he's only just joined, NOT what he expected, He is bound to be affected by it.

Very true and certainly in the first half he was shocking, well off the pace and Kuyt was carrying him. He did improve in the second period but Kuyt fell off somewhat and Crouch's introduction came too late to really help out Torres.
