    Fortress Anfield?

    Those were the days.

    Team----P-W-D-L

    Liverpool 11 4 6 1

The only teams we've beaten at Anfield in the league this year are

    Derby, Fulham, Bolton & Pompey.

This is unnaceptable IMO and the only reason Rafa is getting away with it is because our owners are being ****s. Just before Hicks started being a prat Rafa was on the brink for footballing reasons. I really resent Hicks for this, would rafa have been able to turn it round if there hadn't been such controversy in recent days/weeks? Unfortunately now we'll never know.

Now we're stuck with a joke owner and a team and manager lacking any real conifdence.

We've drawn our last 4 in the league and taken 10 points from the last 24.

Off the field we NEED to be sorted by the summer, otherwise this will only continue. Our name is getting dragged through the mud because of the owners and we're suffering on the pitch as a result.

    Save us Dubai. YNWA

I believe off field matters are having an impact on the pitch. We were impenetrable from set pieces a couple of months ago. Since then i've lost count of the number of goals we've conceded from free-kicks and corners. Down to a lack of concentration and confidence. Now we can speculate what that could be caused by, but I reckon all the speculation has an affect.

We changed the back four, Agger got injured and we keep alternating JAR, Aurelio, Finna and Arbeoloa with no settled side.

We've been poor at the back since Agger left, I don't think it's a lot to do with what's off the pitch. If it is we are shafted for the season.

That's a fair shout, but regardless of personnel they should all be organised for set pieces, I'm sure they all practice that in training. I see no reason why we're having these constant apparent lapses in concentration that are causing us to concede goals from set pieces.

I do think off the field activities have a negative impact, although it is impossible to determine what the extent of it is. Hansen said last week that it can affect players yet Sherwood on Setanta was saying it wouldn't have affected him. Gerrard said it was affecting the players, although to me it really looked like he was clutching at straws a bit. Either way, all the constant speculation has to be distracting, and that can't be great. I can well imagine morale is low because of all this.

I can see what you are saying but I think a settled side would do wonders for us at the moment, especially with Agger back in the squad. I've been seething over our defensive performances lately but I think we were hugely unlucky today. It just follows a run of bad defence days so it's compounded.

Oh I agree with what you're saying. Carra for one hasn't been himself this season when Agger's been absent. probably a settled side would help overall, but when it comes to defending set plays, which we've been abysmal at lately, it shouldn;t. Different personnel shouldn't make a massive difference as the positions are the same and all the players should know their role.

but we do miss Agger badly

I'm dying to get back to normality, in the side and in the club

we're desperate for some much needed stability, both in terms of the line-up and behind the scenes at teh club
