Right, if we can knee-cap Kuyt now we'll be sorted for Lurch and Babel to get a decent run up front

Only if he's damaged cock ligaments or pony-tail ligaments....

time for super crouchie to get a run and remiind rafa what he is all about
Even better, play Babel through the middle. 7 goals as a part time LW. Could do much better through the middle. We're playing much less long ball now, which means we are not playing to Crouch's strengths.

I completely disagree that "the long ball" is playing to Crouch's strengths.

It patently isn't. He even says so himself.

Look at his hat-trick against Arsenal - his best game for us. We played slick, attacking football that day - on the deck. First goal he attacked a low ball at the near post after some great inter-play, 2nd was a cross on to his head and the third was played into his feet and he did the rest.

Crouch is suited to receiving the ball to feet and also getting on the end of crosses - either with head or foot.

I didn't say that was the best way to use him. But that IS the way Rafa uses him.

Well, I know you didn't say it was the best way to use him, you said "less long ball which means we are not playing to Crouch's strengths".

I'm delighted he's injured. Just wish Kuyt would break a knee cap and Rafa might just stumble upon the best front pairing.
