Gil with respect you are way off mark with this piece of journalism.

Firstly Rafael Benitez has never once threatened to quit whilst at Liverpool FC and to put that in your article stinks of tainted journalism. The reason why so many Liverpool fans worldwide are extremely angry, with Mr. Hicks in particular is quite simple, a string of broken promises, his incredible lack of media savvy and the very fact that the financial details of funding have all changed beyond all recognition. Having a pop through the papers at a current manager who is loved dearly for his achievements akin to winning the Super Bowl in his first year is not going to win you many favors this side of the pond.

It might be the way things are done stateside, but this is the United Kingdom, Liverpool FC are the most historic “football” Club in the land and one of the most historic clubs in the world of “football” and if Mr Hicks and Mr Gillette think they have acquired just another sports property to put in their investment portfolios they are in for a very very rude awakening indeed.

Still cant get over that line you used regarding Rafa’S mysterious threats to quit, bare face lies.
