15M is roughly what it would cost to sign Mascherano, or Mascherano + Skrtel offset with proceeds from Momo.

Should we finish 5th this season and not progress much further in the CL I reckon that, whoever the manager is, he will not receive any net funds. We simply will not be able to afford it.

This is the way we are heading IMO. Minimal net spends.

I wouldn't be surprised if they replace Rafa with either a novice or someone low profile who wouldn't kick up a fuss due to having extremely limited transfer funds

Should we fail to qualify for the Champions League this season I would expect that Gerrard or Torres will be sold in the Summer. That is the situation we are now in.

And don't put it past Hicks. He got rid of A-Rod, the biggest talent in all of Baseball at the time. There were other reasons for doing it but one of them was giving the Rangers more financial flexibility. In our case we'll have to do it just to pay the interest.

Would not be at all surprised to see that happening. I reckon they've gambled that we'd be good enough to be qualifying for the CL year on year without needing a top manager at the helm or having to make significant investment in new players. I think they'd have been happy sacking Rafa at a cost of £10m, appoint a no mark who'd keep on getting us in the top and bringing in CL money but not be demanding top transfer funds to compete for the title. This would be a lot cheaper for them than going for a full on title tilt and spending accordingly and would probably allow them to generate surplus funds.

Let's wait and see the premiership TV money something like doubled this year and no-one has been factoring that in.

They are not going to back Rafa, 2 months ago they offered someone else his job.

Get your head out of the sand mate. Our great club is being dragged through the gutter and we have not been out of the papers with boardroom talk since the start of the season.

I cant remember Moores offering houllier job to anyone before he got sacked. And Moores hardly ever spoke to the press.

These are Loose cannons at the helm and clearly are out of their depth.

Your wasting your time mate. Some people on here are clairvoyant and know Rafa will be sacked at the end of the season even though G+H have said they totally back him now and have agreed to buy Skertl and Masch. You`ll just get accused of winding up people if you don`t agree with them.

The only way Rafa will get sacked is if he does a bad job.IMHO.Deservidly so.

You're assuming that their relationship hasn't changed. They've said it has, Rafa has said it has. So who do I believe Rafa or you.

They are not going to run the club in to the ground on purpose, what would be the sense in that? Anyone who thinks that owners don't have a contingency plan also have their heads in the sand.

Maybe Rafa has decided he doesn't like the new owners and is making things difficult. If the owners are concerned that he'll walk out, they'd be critisised pretty heavily if they didn't have a back-up in place. Don't forget that we don't have a No. 2 to hold the reigns as caretaker. Not everything is a clear as some people make out. Personally, I think Rafa could be a seriously stubborn individual and perhaps a little difficult to work with. Don't misread statements like 'I love this club' because it translates to nothing.

I dont know much about finance but you would think they would have had to give the bank guarantees that a new stadium would be built to cover the repayment costs. It is in there own interests to build one, I cant see why it wont happen specially after spending so much so far on it.
