You can then next year add the loan for the stadium that will also be put against the club.

Then we are up to £500m-£600m. How the hell will the club be able to afford to pay the interest of a loan that big.

£30m-£40m a year in interest to pay. We would need to win the CL every season to be able to pay that. That isn't exactly realistic when you consider the small transfer budget Rafa will have to do with, if he stays. We will get it tough to even qualify for the CL the coming seasons because other clubs will buy more quality players.
Why didn't you complain about the loan KOP football had 10 months ago, this loan hasn't moved so why do you think things have changed.

Yes they could sell players to pay it but you can't tell me you really think they will do that, what happens if they need the money in March, they can't sell a player so? Also selling players would create an adverse result on the pitch and damage the club due to no CL money and reduced PL money, fans walking away from the ground. They are business men I can not see them ****ing this up in that way, they have more knowledge n this area than us so why do so many on here think they know more. The joke of this is that the 2 people that know most about these situations are Disco and RS4 and they are the guys getting **** at the moment because they are trying to get people to chill and saying it is not as bad as we think.
I will however say I am personnaly interested as to how they will get the next £300m loan, if it has gone down to the wire for this one there should be some concern for the next one.
Eh, they have ****ed up with Corinthians, Dallas Stars, Texas Rangers and Montreal Canadians.

We would be the first club they don't **** up.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

There is nothing wrong with being optimistic.

But I would feel a lot more optimistic if we could get these ****ers out now and bring in somebody with a business model more in keeping with our prestige and expectations. You know, a bit more like the model the Americans eluded to when they arrived, before they were exposed as the profiteering opportunists that they are.

Talk me through that one will you, the fans are happy aren't they?
Also aren't Hicks clubs making more profit than before, seem to rememebr something about not being able to be relegated and the big money is just doing what they are doing. With PL you need to be at the top or very near the top to make the most money and in CL every year. Without that the profit will reduce quickly.

G&H have so far not paid any interest on that loan, they should have paid it February 4th.

I don't know when they will now pay the interest for it, probably next year.

The problem is the loan on Kop Football, and now on the club, is getting bigger each time they drawdown more funds, so repayments increase each time as well.

Before the stadium is built there could be a debt of £600m on the club and it's parent company. If they kept the acquisition debt completely separate from the club and it's parent company, what would the debt be? £400m? A much more manageable amount.

Ultimately it is the club that will repay these debts, and the club barely makes enough money as it is so I struggle to see where the requisite revenue will conme from over the next 4 yrs when the stadium is getting built. Lean yrs ahead.

And as for G&H selling off club assets, my own personal opinion is that they would sooner do that than dip into their own pockets.

People were open-minded, willing to give them a chance, and were taken in by their PR blitz, me included. Simple as that.

I now realise what a load of bollocks it was. More fool me for ever having taken them at their word.

Remember, they tried to dump the whole £350m debt on the club, it's only Moores and Parry who prevented it. If they had their way, the club would be in over half a billion pound of debt before the stadium is finished. And what would happen if they couldn't arrange a loan to complete the stadium, and it was left half-done? We'd be ****ed.

I don't know the ins and outs of that but it would surely be a counter productive measure?

Selling off key players means that the team may not perform as well. The team doesn't perform as well and the stadium isn't as full as they'd like it to be...

Not every fan that goes every week is a die hard. Some of the fans that are there are fair weather fans who only support the team because we won the CL two years ago.

The onwers are counting on keeping them interested enough to keep coming to the match.

I think they'd be willing to take the chance. They probably take the view that the team is an entrenched top 4 team, and it could absorb the loss of the occasional top player and still stay in the top 4. And as long as we're in the CL and they get that revenue they'll be happy. They'd gamble that we'd still sell out if we were a top 4 club even if we weren't genuinely a top 2 club.

I personally dont think they have the ambition/resources to spend to get us to the top of the league or compete with Man U/Chelsea, they'd just be happy if we qualified for the CL year on year, and in that respect, and they'd take the view that selling the occasional top player would not hinder the team in achieving the objectives they set.

In the words of AFII: IMO.

We keep onhearing that the club will borrow a further £300m to fund the £300m stadium and that the £45m from this loan is for the next 18 months in the transfer window. They have already borrowed £60m for the stadium so I keep wondering if there will be extra in that loan (taking it up to the £300m) for players. Yes I think there will be lean years ahead but I have always expected that but have never been sure how lean. It will be worth it though if in 4-5 years the club has the same/better spending power than utd, the big thing will be keeping close to them/getting closer to them.
The big concern from my point of view is how will they get the second loan if they struggled to get this one.

So you think they believe that, in 2005 we finished 5th, in 2004 our 45,000 seater stadium regularly had plenty of empty seats. They don't have to go far back to see that what your saying is wrong and they will know this and will have been told it.
