No, it's more than that. They want them unconditionally out and are happy to do some very stupid things to prove it.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostWhat does "giving them a chance" actually mean in practice?
All people are saying is they have no trust in the owners and frankly it's Tom Hicks's fault that's the case.
It's up to them to win back trust.Quote of the year :

Wouldn't be surprised if this turns into another saga but we shall see.Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostMay be we will. Let's see if the stadium ever gets a completion certificate under their watch though.
I'm sure various factions within the city council will find some way to delay things if they think it's to their advantage.

Completely agreeOriginally posted by Tom View PostMore than decent financial support for the manager for players.
Substantial progress on the stadium.
A promise from them that the interest on the debt held by Kop Football is not liable to LFC.
Hicks to shut up and disapear into the background.
I could probably think of a few more.
3 is related to 1. I'm happy they pay dividends to support the loan, but only if this doesn't affect acceptable/decent transfer funds.
So, I'd phrase 3 as
"Assurance that LFC will not provide funds to Kop Football at the expense of building the team"Quote of the year :

but sue for what?talking to klinnsman, but prove he was offered the job or was just talking to them in his role as head of a sports consultancy firm.if he does walk lets say in the summer what excuse canhe use then afterall it'll have taken him over 6months to walk in which he was allowed to sign the clubs most exspensive defender and had the co-owners backing in press statements.and also rafa himself saying things are sorted.Originally posted by Skillz View PostIf they have any intentions of giving Rafa a chance, that is the minimum they can do, IMO. If they don't extend his contract he is gone. Rafa will eventually walk and sue. It would end in tears all round IMO.
These pricks need to take the hint.

Some are. Some simply don't trust these blokes.Originally posted by disco View PostNo, it's more than that. They want them unconditionally out and are happy to do some very stupid things to prove it.
Too many gave them more than the benefit of the doubt when they took over. Hicks and Gillett really don't deserve more of the same right now..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

The smart play is to wait and see how he performs next year (season), then make a decision on whether to extent his contract or get someone else in, then he'll only have a year left on his deal.Originally posted by disco View PostIs that sensible?
Forgetting all the off-field ****e, there are many people who have question marks about Rafa's management given our results. If he gets a new 5 year contract, but we fail to qualify for the CL etc., then it would cost a fortune to replace him.
I'd wait until the summer before extending his contract.I hate Polanski

Agree.Originally posted by disco View PostNo, it's more than that. They want them unconditionally out and are happy to do some very stupid things to prove it.
I think people need to be more patient.
Also agree with what Neil says too, their - or is it just his now? - actions count. This all sounds great but they've got to go and do it.I hate Polanski

Which ones? Bought Torres, Bennanoon, Babel, Skrtal - 4 excellent to world class first-teamers. Their loans to buy the club are personal debt. What else did they say that hasn't happened?Originally posted by Tom View PostDarren they set conditions - which they have subsequently broken - when they took over the club. I really find this painting of the resistance to the yanks as some kind of moronic lynch mob deeply offensive.
It's the RTK mentality that I'm comparing to 'moronic lynch mob' (your words, not mine - I just find it deeply embarrassing and just as destructive to our club)
I'm all for constructive communications with them. In fact, I'm seriously considering sending them an e-mail myself....Quote of the year :

What about the bit about using LFC money to fund his american teams?Originally posted by disco View PostRemind me. What are these broken promises? The debt they used to buy the club is on them, not the club.
If this is all about Klinsman, then I still find all their actions perfectly reasonable (at that moment in time), although the fighting (including by Rafa) was completely pathetic, and the recent statement admitting it ****ing stupid.**********

I'll sit here and list all the things they've promised and IMO haven't delivered, Disco will then tell me either that it wasn't a promise or that technically it hasn't been broken, and we'll go round in circles.
I just want the best for my club, I really dont believe these two can deliver it or even have the inclination to deliver it, and I'm being painted as some kind of militant because of it.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Could it be that Gillett wants out and will sell his 50% share to DIC, therefore providing the financial clout for the stadium and player purchases ?
I mean, there's still 300 odd million to find.

and if Dic were involved it would mean exactly the same. You sepnd 45M in a buisness and that buisness is 45M worse off from a cash flow perspective.Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostNo it means we get £45m further in to debt and increased interest repayments to make. What that money actually goes towards is anyone's guess.
Seems they can't win - they spend 45M on players they are putting us 45M more into the red
they spend 1M on players - there're not backing Rafa
The fact they spent 6.5M on player if they don't sell in a couple of months shows there backing Rafa at least for now.
I'd prefer them to back him with players than extending contracts when years away. Money better spent.
As for Masher putting it in perspective 17M is about £12 extra for every home ticket sold.
Who ever bought us would of done it as a buisness and would have a plan to make money in the long run.
DIC would of been the same and all the talk of them getting investors to provide a return is no different.
As for all the comment re Hicks and his american franchises this is different in a couple of way
one is Gillett and although he may be quiet publically doesn't mean behind the scenes he is.
The 2nd is the american market is different here continual success will only bring in the money. Its times like these we learn to live again FF
