If they have any intentions of giving Rafa a chance, that is the minimum they can do, IMO. If they don't extend his contract he is gone. Rafa will eventually walk and sue. It would end in tears all round IMO.

These pricks need to take the hint.

Unfortunately Darren, on past record these 2 don't deservere support. When you line up how hicks treats his other sports franchises with his recent record with us, we've got every reason to be belligerant. And thank **** we are.

Sounds like they've got their work cut out to turn people around

Question - what would it take in the summer for people to edge from 'total disapproval' to 'cautious optimism'?

If and I mean "If" the shovel is in the ground for the new stadium soon, Rafa gets the 40million for summer transfers plus cash from player sales and masch is signed up asap then I am willing to give the owners some breathing space. What I would like to see of them in future though is a bit more of the "randy lerner" approach to owning a club. Stay out of the media, back your managerand be seen at more matches supporting the team

Mate, given the debris of broken promises that lies in their wake, all the maneuvering they have done to get Rafa out the door, please expalin to me why they deserve to be taken at their word that they are now backing the manager?

Maybe now we'll see some bulldozers in Stanley Park. It's about time.

What does "giving them a chance" actually mean in practice?

All people are saying is they have no trust in the owners and frankly it's Tom Hicks's fault that's the case.

It's up to them to win back trust.
                    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

May be we will. Let's see if the stadium ever gets a completion certificate under their watch though.

So does it mean we'll get at least 45m pounds for purchasing players this summer ?

More than decent financial support for the manager for players.
                          Substantial progress on the stadium.
A promise from them that the interest on the debt held by Kop Football is not liable to LFC.
Hicks to shut up and disapear into the background.

I could probably think of a few more.

No it means we get £45m further in to debt and increased interest repayments to make. What that money actually goes towards is anyone's guess.

I imagine that's for players bought and players to be bought.

Remind me. What are these broken promises? The debt they used to buy the club is on them, not the club.

If this is all about Klinsman, then I still find all their actions perfectly reasonable (at that moment in time), although the fighting (including by Rafa) was completely pathetic, and the recent statement admitting it ****ing stupid.
