This is not about the stadium. I dont think anyone with half a brain cell thought they would give us a stadium out of their own pockets.

The main reason for the dissatisfaction is that they are using us, the fans, to buy the club for themselves. We are now in a worse position financially than when Moores was in charge. Also we are not even in a better position to compete in the transfer market (£25mill NET spend in the summer, which was paid for with a loan)
Then their is the shocking treatment of Rafa.

Yes, because what they are saying is that the £105m that has been loaded onto the club isn't to repay the amount borrowed to buy the club or pay off the old debt, but to pay for the inital ground costs and player purchases. I suppose it's no worse that if Moores hadn't sold the club, but borrowed money against it to invest in the ground and players. As long as the whole £105m is spent how they say...

Yes, it has a certain neatness to it.

Makes it easier to identify the true value of the club etc. (and presumably makes it easier to sell )

Can't help thinking that there is a lot of scope for them to fiddle the figures though... For example if they spend £65m on the ground and £40m on players, they could claim that all the new borrowing has been spent as promised, while ignoring the fact that £25m may have been brought in by player sales.


What makes me think they might use this tactic is that they are claiming that they have just sanctionned Rafa spending £6.5m, while ignoring the fact that Momo's sale might bring in more than that. Unless that will go towards Masher..

Tricky one to assess.

If we're getting rid of genuine 'deadwood' and replacing them with better players then it makes sense.

But how do you judge that?

Was Luis Garcia's sale necessary because we needed better or necessary to buy Bennanoon?

No, I saying that on paper, what they've done is what they promised to do and they appear to have not broken any promises regarding the funding (this could be because of the stink kicked up by the fans - I'm very doubtful that they would have put in the £50m or whatever out of their own pockets otherwise). I'm very sceptical and suspicious which is why I keep adding caveats regarding if the whole £105m is spent on the ground and new players and if they don't take more than their fair share of the profits to pay off the purchase loan interest.

It seems to me that they have been very careful to make the refunding as honest and open as possible. What they do behind the scenes is another matter, but some of the criticisms of the refunding itself are totally incorrect.

Exactly, Gillette should've been at the forefront at the unveiling of this spectacular new stadium. Something is definitely happening at boardroom level with Foster apparently gone and George nowhere to be seen.

Not even a joint statement its very strange imo.
