Hicks is a lying ****er and Rafa has learnt how much we respect him. Hopefully he has also learnt that whilst we want him to stay on he does have to be more consistent in winning matches! This whole episode has pissed me off no end and all I want now is for us to absolutely thrash H&W (no disrespect h&w but we could do with the confidence boost) and for us to claw our way back into the title race.

Something is definitely happening at boardroom level with Foster apparently gone and George nowhere to be seen.
Not even a joint statement its very strange imo.

Dear Disco and Frodo
It would be nice with 105M£ towards the ground and the team. THESE MONEY should be seen as NEW investment (just for a minute).
Then there is the amount from last seasons CL-final = at least £25M
Then the TV-money from this years PL - some quotes has been around £20M and up.
Then there should be the normal budget for transfers - made up of tickets etc. abt. £15M.
Then the money from sales in the summer - set low at £5M
These money should have been able to buy Torres, Leiva and Babel - and even Bennayoun.
BUT we learn from the information coming through the media that this summers transfers were brougth in by loans.
WE learn from the turmoil around Mascherano that there arn't any money to complete his contract - even when it has been agreed to be split in 4 payments.
THE most of what CAN HAVE been spent, were on renewed contracts to Gerrard, Alonso, Carra and a few more.
This cannot mean anything but that some money has disappeared through the accounts of the club - either to pay some interests - some boardmeeting costs - or something else - BUT no money for 1 class transfers (and you can hear Rafa asking for these money rigth from Athen!) except Torres/Babel - and some stopgab-players.
I know I'm not the one, whom these two finacial supermen are to stand acountable to - in no way. But I'm still frustrated that these men with such financial muscle are so weak when it comes to tell the truth - and are so rude towards the best footballclub on this planet (which I happen to have supported for the last 30 years - since I had a chat with Jan Molby at the street of his hometown in Denmark just after he moved to LFC from Ajax). This is what annoys me - and why I struggle to understand these figures - and I'm sure I'm not the only one.- - - - -

Have to say it is very strange that he has said **** all. Unless the plan is to allow Hicks to take all the fans flack, while leaving Gillet unscathed. This then allows them to use Gillet as the fans voice and work the PR magic.Originally posted by andyhanrahan View Postwhere is gillete in all of this
No point in having 2 owners who the fans want to hang. (from their point of view)“Hicks could have purchased Dallas’ MLS franchise but decided not to. ‘In hindsight, I probably made the wrong decision,’ he said.“.

Mr Pastry, I agree somethings don't immediately make sense - we need to see what the accounts make of all this. The 2007 accounts due in the next month or so will shed some light. The 2008 accounts would make even better reading.
There will be loads of people analysing them with a fine toothcomb (and making various conclusions to support their position
)

The bottom line is that G&H probably lied to Moores when he sold the club to them.
I doubt very much that Moores would have sold to G&H if he had known their real plans instead of the lies they told him.
I know that Moores should have checked them up better but the above is what started it all.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

BTW, I agree with every word of thisOriginally posted by Sir Bob View PostThe problem with Hicks is as we all know, he's completely untrustworthy.
His statement sounds great but is meaningless. There is quite simply nothing he could say that would prompt me to give him my support at LFC. Not now. Not ever.

Yes, it certainly seems that way. It appears they wanted to dump all the debt directly onto the club all along (contrary to what the promised), and it is only the opposition of Parry and Moores on the board that has forced them slightly circumvent the debt. The bottom line is that the club will still be servicing their purchase debt, and if the club cant meet those responsibilities then I dont see what's stopping them selling the club's assets to meet the repayments.Originally posted by AFII View PostThe bottom line is that G&H probably lied to Moores when he sold the club to them.

The main reason for the dissatisfaction is that they are using us, the fans, to buy the club for themselves. We are now in a worse position financially than when Moores was in charge. Also we are not even in a better position to compete in the transfer market (£25mill NET spend in the summer, which was paid for with a loan)
Then their is the shocking treatment of Rafa.
That sums it up quite nicely for me

That they wouldn't put any debt at all against the club from the money they bought the club for.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostCategorically, what are the lies you refer to?
That they wouldn't interfere and let Rafa do his job.
That they would back Rafa big time in the transfer market.
That's the three big lies.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

1/ The only debt is for the stadium. They never said that wouldn't be against the club and TBH to do it any other way would be assinine.Originally posted by AFII View PostThat they wouldn't put any debt at all against the club from the money they bought the club for.

2/ You don't know what the dialogue was between Rafa and H&G. Maybe Rafa forced their hand. Wouldn't be the first time. In the absence of FACTS give them the benefit of the doubt.
3/ They've got us Babel, Torres and have got a 55m loan for FUTURE transfers.
So what exactly is the problem? The Crushing Machine MKII
