[QUOTE=Tom;922725]Steve, the question about whether the interest payments for Kop holding's part of the debt are being fielded by the club are absolutely crucial. This is not some kind of arcane financial matter, as if we are liable for them we are ****ed as far as liquidity is concerned. The fact that we have no public statement on this from Hick's - despite questions being asked is very concerning.

As far as the DIC question is concerned, well you're cutting him a huge amount of slack. In my opinion. [/QUOTE

I would think that the term of the loan was on basis of buying time to secure the best possible offer he can for a full takeover, remember the longer the term the more expensive it is to fix the interest costs. He`s in the lobby at the point of no return, he`s stairing at the sign that reads "no re-entry"

I suspect this interview was aimed at uping the ante with DIC. But he ain`t at the same level as DIC and is grasping at straws...

I thought a spokesman for Hicks said that LFC would NOT be paying the interest on the loans taken out by Kop Holding.

Well................I think trust is a word that no-one can use at the moment. As I said to Tom I'm no apologist for G&H, but it would appear that the sun is shining a little brighter on thier side of the fence at the moment! The thing is, I'm an optomistic kind of guy, glass half full, that kind of stuff. I also try to be a pragmatist in these matters. We'd all want the club not to have needed to sell, but thats gone now, and it would appear that our US friends are with us for a while. So..........trusting in human nature as I do, I seriously WANT all Hicks has said to be true, and if it was no-one could argue, ever. But we have the 'lies' dont we, or do we? f you look back at the Debt stories and the Klinsman stories it'll drive you mad, 'cos they can (and are) interpreted in many different ways according to your standpoint.
The worrying thing for me is all these people who say they will NEVER, EVER have H&G in our club, and never accept them. I cant ever reconcile that point of view. What if, just if, everything Hicks said today came to pass, and we spent the next few years seriously challenging where we want to challenge. would these people still never trust G&H? Ever?
So I suppose I'm saying that although there are too many unknowns to allow me to trust him, there isnt nearly enough for me to condemn the man, so I stay sat up here and watch it unfold!! I'll keep my eye firmly fixed on the ball, and try to always take a reasoned viewpoint.
There IS something on the horizon though, but I cant make out if its DIC approaching, or Rashid and Bascombe skipping into the distance!!!!

If anyone believes that we won't end up paying for their loans is living in the clouds...

How often does Hicks mention the stadium in the interview, how it will be the best football stadium in the world etc. What a blatant attempt to placate the fans.

He was very evasive about how they were going to arrange the rest of the finance for the stadium 18 months down the line though.

on the contrary, he refused to confirm this was the case.

Of course we will. I believe they'd sooner strip the club of its assets than dip into their own pockets to cover repayments.

He was asked, he said no LFC would not pay. He was asked for more detail and did not provide it. Very different from how you are trying to portay it.

Ok, so how will the payments be made?
