True, if only the doomsayers would not make every other post about it. We get the point we understand your opinion. Now belt up, get behind the team, stop unsettling things, you are NOT helping the situation. H&G already know what you think about them. They are business men they will make decisions on the basis of profit only. To think that Tom being hysterical on here is going to make any difference is niave at best.
Like I said, Hicks' PR officer's wet dream.

For somebody who doesn't claim to support Hicks, you are doing a pretty good impression of somebody who is doing exactly what he wants.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

Sorry, I won't put the club before raging hysterics in future. Quite how that makes me a Hicks fan is beyond me.

But hey you are entitled to your opinion.

I didn't claim you were a Hicks fan.

One thing I would say, given Momo's just been sold for 10 million, Hargreaves/ Carrick cost about 18 million then maybe Mascherano's valuation is within the current market range.

You either pay the going rate, or accept sub standard players. Simple, really.

I don't see how the debt repayments won't affect transfer spending budgets further down the line, especially as they seem to be taking out bigger loans to cover short-term spending plans. Perhaps this is why he's avoiding the question.
Obviously at some point the loans will affect either our spending all else being equal. However I'm not sure that all else is equal we need to invest to keep getting the same level of success to retain the income streams we have now and to hopefully grow them. If the loans are managed correctly I think we can ensure that we will at least be able to maintain our level of team funding as this is the lowest risk way of proceeding. If we say loose CL then we will be far worse off than if we spend and extra say £10m on players. So I suspect we will continue to see a £20m-£30m player budget with most of what we get in sales going back. At least until like Arsenal a couple of seasonns back we feel we have a long term squad spine and only need to bring in a lesser amount of expensive talent.

We probably will not be able to compete with United/Chelsea (and possibly the dreaded Arsenal we shall wait and see what they new found wealth does to their spending) on an equal footing until we have a new stadium but we will certainly still be able to improve. We need to have a long term plan to bring through young players and to develop a way of playing which is one reason I think we need to keep Rafa. Even without being as well of as they are we signed Torres and we have a number of top players.

We will however have to maintain a tight control on squad size and wage budget but in order to have a new stadium under any owners other than Abramovich we would have had to make sacrifices and compromises.

REvo - IF Kop Holdings it went bankrupt - or defaulted on its payments- would the banks go after H&G assets first, or straight to club?

Also, is it a real worry or a unlikely worst case? (i.e. how strong are the financials, particularly if we don't qualify for the CL?)
