    Stadium planning application refusal ?

It has been revealed by the Liverpool Echo that the new stadium designs will require a further planning application.

Is it possible that Liverpool Council will take another look at this and refuse permission for construction to begin because Hicks and Gillett cannot demonstrate that they have the funding in place for the stadium ?

Surely the council would ask this sort of question and with the current financial climate and not let these two *******s continue with the ruination of our club.

Interesting point, not sure the last half of the last sentence was necessary

      As has been said before.
I think they will go ahead building anyway, the 61,000 seater that is, and in the mean time apply for 71,000.
The applications I have made for say housing developments in Ireland, I have never been asked to provide financial statements from the contractors.
Not sure if this is the same in this case.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

With a project on this scale and that involves Stanley Park Im sure they would want to make sure the money was in place before any work started. The worst case scenario would be for work to continue and then have to stop because of a lack of funds.

Nope - nothing to do with the Planning App.

Finances have no effect on planning permission.
                  Oh I don't know.

Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

what about the fact that stanley park is an 'area of local interest' meaning that there are restrictions on the permitted rights of development there ?

Surely before Liverpool FC go ahead and destroy part of this park - the council would want some assurances that we are actually able to finish the job off.

If you apply to get planning to the council that you can afford to build it.

In fact, you don't even have to own land to apply for planning permission.
                              Oh I don't know.
