Former Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has confirmed he will be joining Juventus following Mali’s challenge for the African Cup of Nations.
Rafa Benitez’s protege will leave his mentor and move to Italy, as he will complete a move to Serie A giants Juve before the transfer window closes.
The African player leaves The Premier League after two-and-a-half seasons and will start a fresh adventure in a new league, far away from Benitez, who managed him at Valencia and Anfield.
Mali international Sissoko is currently in Ghana, but made the trip to Turin at the weekend to pass a medical and discuss personal terms.
“I am liberated,” he told football365.fr.
“I know my future now and I know to which club I will belong when I return from the ACN.
“Defending Juve’s colours is an honour and fills me with pride.”
