    Crouch

Is Rafa the only person in the country who won't start him alongside Torres?

Why isn't he playing? Why is he persisting with Kuyt/Voronin. Crouch has to play!

Maybe he isn't on Rafa's side in the dressing room, then Rafa simply can't play him that much.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

But Kuyt and Voronin are not performing!

Crouch hasn't said anything really in the press.

Merson has just staked peters claim, basically saying kuyt is poo

I am not Crouch's biggest fan, but if it ain't working then why not give him a run in the team? He can't be any worse than the current crop ffs

For me this very topic is the reason I am fast falling out with Rafa.

His persistance with Kuyt whilst refusing to give Crouch a decent run in the team smacks of pure stubborness

I agree. As pro-Rafa as one might be, you can't denie that Crouch hasn't been given a proper chance this season.

If Kuyt was struggling, not scoring but we were winning then I would go along with it, but the fact is we aren't winning and we don't look like beating anyone at the moment.
If things aren't working then you change it, start Babel, Lucus, Crouch for a few games and see what happens - we can't pick up any less points by playing them

To be fair they all started on Saturday against part timers and were all pretty ****, I know PC scored but up till the 89th minute he offered even less than Dirk.
I think Yossi is worth a shot with Torres at the mo would be interesting.
                  08-09 Dirk monitor

                  5 goals (target 15)

                  3 assists also........

There's no justification for playing Kuyt right now. I've been defending Rafa all along on this, Crouch has been poor this season especially when he's started, Torres adn Kuyt have a good partnership etc, but Kuyt is so woeful at the moment he is even missing 5 yard passes, there's no cohesion with Torres to speak of, and to top things off the fans are very quick to get on Kuyt's back. Crouch needs to start for the foreseeable future.

Nah. If that's the case then he would've been sold by now. Rafa's Kuyt blind spot is similar to GH's with heskey. It's that sort of stubborness that will cost us points and ultimately may end up costing him his job. Playing Kuyt instead of Crouch is a ludicrous decision.

When we first signed Crouch most fans didnt want him, but know when we do Rafa doesn't! He has to see that he's the only option (Bar playing Babel as a striker) Cant see what Crouch has done wrong in fairness to him

Agree that no Crouchie is the biggest question amrk over Rafa.

He's not looked great when he's played, but at least he's been a threat & scored some goals (certainly a lot more per mins on the pitch than Kuyt). Anyway, you cant blame him too much for poor form when he's not had a good run of consecutive games to build up his sharpness. Contrary to his dance, he isnt a robot that can just be switched on & off.
                          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I have seen Crouch and Torres repeatedly take up the same positions and get in each others way.
                            Maybe part of the explanation?

He's needed to start for the last three months, but hasnt...and i dont think it'll change. It's a fundamental mistake.

With rafa continuing to make poor decisions like this, where's the justification to argue that he's going to turn it around?
