    Why Does Rafa....

get such a free pass from fans? We have all blamed Moores, Parry, Hick, Gillette. I really don't see what the big deal is with Hicks being honest about lining up another manager. What if Rafa said something to make G & H do this but it plays out in the press poor poor Rafa

Interesting post. THere's absolutely no doubt in my mind that if people were happy with the owners, he would not be getting such strong support after the performances in the last 2 months.

I'm not sure how long the goodwill will last - surely if we fail to qualify for CL, lose to Inter Milan next round and fail to win the FA Cup it's curtains?

After his first season he gave us such great hope and a taste of what the future could be like. And it seemed amazing, especially given the euphoria during and after 25-05-05.

Has not quite gone to plan since but he does have his own masterplan I am sure. So we should still stick with him!!

Obviously it was the best thing to happen to us for ages but i actually think that winning the CL was the worst thing that could have happened for him.

I remember when he came in he was talking about a 5 year blan and so on.

He won it in the first season and it raised everyones expectations and put more pressure on him to deliver similar seasons during his 5 year plan.

If you forget about everything and still give him his five year plan i don't think we would be too bad, that would give him another 4 transfer windows to fix the wide areas and get the last striker.

I'm not happy with what's going on, and am beginning to question whether his plan may not be the right one to win the league. Regardless of that, what really concerns me is that some of the players appear to have given up on him, for what reason I do not know. But if that's the case then sticking with him will be futile.

If he does go, which I think is inevitable now, then I really worry about whether we could get in some who will be able to command the respect of these primma donnas at our club, and also inspire them. I can't see us getting anyone better than Rafa.

The club is a mess from top to bottom

But if these spoilt brats have given up on him what chance has he got? He can get rid of the whining, egotistical ****-bags, but that would probably include Gerrard and a few of the other so-called "top" players.

The name LIVERPOOL is big enough to attract any top manager. Maybe Martin O' Neil hasn't sold his house in Liverpool yet

                  True.

But there is no doubt in my mind that performances in the last 2 months would have been a lot different had it not been for the owners.

Maybe the time is now for Hansen to step up to the plate....

it would be great to get some old boys back in but seriously there is no one. Even Kenny seems past it now eh. Damn shame, id really like a boot room back in place.

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

It's a shame about all the owner ****, because it's a ready made excuse (granted a good one).
Rafa was ****ing up before all this blew up. I wanted to see progress this year, we finished 3rd the last 2 seasons, and this year I wanted / expected us to be closer to first place with a shout of winning it with a month or so to go.
I don't believe for one minute that the squad is not good enough to be challenging for the league. The way we started the season with everyone up for it, playing for their place in the team, the only possible out come was that we would be challenging. This ****ing rotation for the sake of rotation and the persistence of playing certain player when they are clearly out of form is what has cost us.
You can’t tell me that Chelsea, without Terry, Lampard, Essien, Drogba, Mikel etc. are better than us? Any of the top 3 managers would make us in to a title challenging side with the exact same personnel that Rafa has at his disposal.

Ordinarily I'd agree with you, but working for Statler and Waldorf would make anyone think twice, especially if rumours of limited transfer funds are true. MON is not as good as Rafa IMO and I'd not be particularly happy to have him as RAfa's replacement

Surely he's been away too long?

                              Has he got his badgers?
