    Fan Politics

Sat in the back of the Kop for the first time in a couple of years tonight (normally sit in Lower Centenary).

Isn't it amazing how 'different' the fans back there are?

It was weird, and it probably doesn't make sense, but it seemed as though some of them seemed to enjoy the first half more when they could slag off people. The lad standing next to me barely even celebrated when Crouch scored because he was still busy having a go at Lucas for giving the ball away about 2 minutes earlier.

I'm not criticising them, they are as fanatical as any other supporters, probably more even so, but it just seems different there.

The whole protest thing was arranged, and I think the Police and stewards knew about it. We'd been standing for the whole game but they only waded in and tried to get us to sit down with about 15 minutes left, when the first protest rumblings started.

It just seems weird how one area of the stand all seem to share the same views. Remember the Havant game where they all tried to start the 'anti-Yank' stuff and got shouted down by the rest of the Kop. Other areas of the Kop started booing them this time but it was a genius move by whoever decided to chant after the game, no-one can really try to shut you up when they are on their way out can they! (I didn't join in with the chants by the way, I'm playing it by ear at the mo).

Don't get carried away by reports of the 'protest' by the way, there was only a few hundred of them, but it was interesting. Shame I've got to go back to my boring Lower Centenary seat now!

Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

My son Foster is a fan of soccer. He was a goaltender. His brother was a defenseman.

Yes, it's just those silly supporters again having another protest about the minor little problem were having behind the scenes where two Americans have bought the club, saddled us with millions of £££'s worth of debt and publicly undermined the manager!

          HELLO?:whatever:
          THE LIVERPOOL WAY!

I have to say Jonesie, I sat quite near the back of the kop and everyone around me was great with good singing and good support.

I also thought the atmosphere wasn't bad.
It started well but then went quiet with the fustration of the first half but picked up again just before half time and throughout the second half.

Oh don't get me wrong mate, great atmosphere, better than most run of the mill league games (probably coz it was a night game).

I was just saying that the fans back there seem different. I don't know if you sit (stand) there week in week out but back there they all seem more affected by the anti-yank stuff than the rest of the ground.

As I said, I always sit in the Lower Cent so it was interesting for me to be back there for once. Its just strange how they all seem to be more vocal in the goings on at the club than the rest of the Kop, and the whole ground, who were not happy with them. Fan politics, like i said.

Ok, yeah I see what you mean. I've only sat in there 3 times this season and your right, it was different compared to before Christmas.

I think the protest after the gameis the way to do it, support the players during the game.

The atmosphere was poor with the Sunderland fans being far noisier then our lot. The players aren't helping things in particular Stevie G as the heartbeat of the team when he looks disinterested it can be very frustrating especially when you can only go to one or two games a season.

My voice is still ****ed i tried my best to rally the fans around me but to be fair to them their wasn't much to sing about in a passionless first half. Crouchies goal eased the tension and imo Pennant needs to play all the time as he is very exciting on the ball which in turn lifts the fans.
